That was a cinematic, but you could melee attack with rifles in the old games, so you still should be able to.

In the old games, it was done automatically. But now, I think we will have the choice to do it or not just like FPS games.

To pistol whip in the other games you had to be standing right up close, too close to fire the gun at them. I would like to be able to swing a rifle at someone repeatedly, or even have a bayonet and slice them up that way. I know you attach bayonets to most assault rifles.
