Orange has more connotations towards the East Coast in my opinion, and they seem to match the overall colour of Los Santos, which is very orange and brown in the 'hood areas. The only reason a lot of them died way faster is because their AI is moderately lower than the other gangs. Whenever i bring a gang member(s) with me, they're aim is way off because they only hit other gangs once in every 7 shots or so with a pistol. I might've liked the ballas a little more if they didn't wear the purple color. I don't like the color purple much and i think that's kind of a wimp color for a gang like Ballas, but that's my opinion. If it weren't for GSF, i'd like Aztecas better. Rockstar didn't have much choice, apart from orange there isn't many colours to pick. Red or blue would've been too close to them being crips or bloods.
