flyinhawaiian
Alright, I don't want to get flamed or yelled at, but I honestly think Tommy Vercetti is in the game. In "Move Up Ladies", towards the end, you see this guy yelling at Niko: And his voice sounds like Ray Liotta in GTA:Vice City. Now, alot of you might not agree and that's fine, but going through a first time viewing, I went Holy Sh*t, did I just... no... it couldn't be. So, that's what I think. Thoughts? Raptomex
Nah. Rockstar confirmed GTAIV will have no connection to the original GTAIII trilogy. But I do think he's Mafia.
spike88
I could see him being a really old Tommy Vercetti, but I highly doubt it. Especially since rockstar said that no main characters would be returning.
flyinhawaiian
That's why I said don't flame me, because I realize that, but honestly, it was waaay to close to Vercetti. Watch it and let me know. I don't wanna feel like an idiot lol.
E-lasto
If they were to bring characters back, they would be easily recognizable. I don't really see the resembalence, and the voice is off.

Yeah. If anyone, it sounds more like Ray from GTAIII.

Especially since rockstar said that no main characters would be returning. No they didnt. What was said was "Virtually no characters will be returning." So about one or maybe two. But I also doubt that Tommy will be back. I wouldn't mind Ray playing a different character though
Ph3L1z14n0
Tommy wouldn't be THAT old He must've been 35 when VC, and VC was in 1986, so 22 years from now, he would be 57, and the man in that picture looks to be 70 at least!

Yeah, for someone to look that old they'd have to have a life riddled with drug use. The way Tommy Vercetti's character was so heroic in VC was that he never got high off his own supply like Tony Montana did. But then again, we weren't around for those years between Vice and now... |Brad|
With regards to the voices, sounded like folks from the Vice City cast were doing voice overs for some of the Russians. The accent sounded a bit fake and leaned towards a more Staten Island tone. I could be wrong though.
Jay
Why woud Tommy leave Vice City with all that power? He's not stupid enough to leave. That's assuming he still has it. We know he stayed in power for a long time, as he was still influential during San Andreas. The man before him, Diaz, was only in power for a couple of years. Mafioso86
he does look the right age, sounds like a wiseguy.... tho I doubt it's him; and I don't think he sounds like Ray Liotta at all. But I am thinking he could be our boy Ray or Bell from the most recent preview...

It also had Niko's address and police reports and stuff, so it could be tommy. and if any character returned i would want it to be tommy.

kfcrulez21
Ray Liotta Could be doing voice of another character for the Grand Theft Auto series. I don't think it is Tommy
OptimumPx
Tommy won't be in GTA IV. This is a new beginning for the GTA series, new Liberty City, new storylines. Sam Houser said back in 2004 that "San Andreas is the official conclusion to a trilogy [that] began with Grand Theft Auto III."

R* never outright said we're leaving everything behind from the past GTAs. They never said no characters would return and they never said the storyline would be discontinued. If R* said any of those things saying this was a whole new GTA get proof and not your own version of proof with you saying it was in a magazine. k_jap
If we can believe the "hardly any returns"-statement, I would think any returns would be more like brief cameos, references and things like that. I hope I'm wrong, but I think there's little chance of actually doing missions for, say, Tommy. As for Ray the Otter returning - wasn't there some beef between him and Rockstar? Janitor
I realised a striking similarity between the voice of whoever is yelling at Niko in the trailer and that of Brian Doyle Murray. I can't think of anything he has starred in besides of "Yes, Dear" in which he plays Mr. Savitsky. Edit: Brian Doyle Murray is the man in the robe Edited February 5, 2008 by Janitor
