E-lasto
Well, I have a theory. I have some evidence that might prove weapon customization may be in IV. Notice in this pic. the Ak47 Niko is using has a butt that is not stock to an Ak. And here, the same gun has the stock part. Now this could mean a few things: 1. Weapon customization is in. 2. Rockstar has simply changed the model of the Ak47. Thoughts?
Raptomex
Nice find. That would be cool to customize weapons.
Clate
the first one has a stock from the look of it... cant see the lower half of his ear, and his right side of his face looks the same as the second one

An Ak47's stock butt is wood I believe ,not what is shown in pic. 1 Edited December 7, 2007 by E-lasto
Tengo Juego
VERY good find. The first pic is definetly a modified version and the second is just a standard AK. I hope this is a customization and not just R* changing the AK. EDIT: Now that I look at the screens some more, I think the 1st pic is an AK-74 and the second is an AK-47. Tengo Juego
An AK-47 is much longer and bulkier than an AK-74 and in the first pic you can see that Niko's hands are closer together. ALSO the handle on a 74 is smaller than that of a 47. So I dont think that these are the same gun.

I don't think that they are two different guns, no need for two guns that look so alike, with only slight differences between the butts and the size. I do see the size difference you pointed out, and this leads me to believe they just altered the model.
Tengo Juego
You guys could totally be right. I'm still kinda scratchin my head. ehh who cares. I hope its a modified version. I really like the idea of weapon customization.
illspirit
It looks like they've just redone the model entirely. If you look at this other older pic, you can see that it's missing the selector, rear sight, ejection port, etc.. But on this other newer pic, you can see where they've added a lot more detail. Granted, this doesn't rule out customization, but it's hardly proof either. If they do, it would probably just be a couple of versions of the same gun you buy all at once. Either way, don't expect to be able to do this:

I'm trying to spot the damn muzzle break on the end of the barrel though Edit: Just noticed the foresight is at a steeper angle in the first picture, compared to the second. This could be due to the angle or the first AK could well be an AK-74 Edited December 7, 2007 by -Eddie-

mmmfloorpie
I have to disagree, both of those guns in the pictures have a wood (or atleast solid stalk) That isn't the lower part of his ear, it's something else infront of the stalk... illspirit
Seriously, who can shoot that ? Nobody can. Hell, it's probably difficult to pick up. Some guy on another forum just stuck every optic he has on an AR-15 for a funny pic. And the rifle in the first pic is an AK-47. You can tell it's not a 74 by the curve of the mag. The reason the FSB is steeper is because the whole gun is canted inwards. The stock is one of these:

E-lasto
I'am definitely leaning towards the idea of the model just beeing upgraded along development. This comparison actually really shows the upgrade between the two trailers.
