Marz_685
I would like to ask... why the hell there is so much crapy frame rates in all these trailers.. I was hoping by the third trailer they would have fixed it up by now. I ask... how is it possible that they fix frame rate issues at this stage pf production??... i mean it makes it look like the hardware simply cant run the game they have made.... i have never seen a game this late in production with such bad frame rates....i guess all we can do is hope.... ceedot
I only noticed it with the scene where Roman hugs Niko. They have 2-4 months left. It's plenty of time... hopefully. I don't see why not.
BigBoyTraks
I just never noticed any Frame Rate issues in this one. I know in the older trailers I noticed them.

FrozenFire
Just watched it on my sister's expensive laptop, and there are no framerate issues at all :\ Your computer isn't working properly, if you see problems in the trailers.

Clutch107
I watched the trailer from my PS3 and didn't notice any lag whereas on my computer, I noticed a slowdown during a scene or two. It may be your computer.
nlitement
Seriously, stop pretending you know something about "PCs". Goddamn, look your consoles suck ass.. You're probably used to choppy frame rates. Consoles' hardwares don't evolve while the graphical demandment for games goes higher. The scene where they meet up and a bunch of other heavier scenes obviously have frame drops. It's not as noticeable with smaller resolutions like on YouTube, but trust me there is no way someone's computer's choking on 720p video unless they run a really old computer. At least mine doesn't, and look, there ARE frame rate drops. It's what is my biggest concern about this game, but I know that Rockstar knows what it's doing and I don't create threads about it. |Brad|
Works fine for me. Very smooth in my opinion.
CharmingCharlie
if you cannot see the framerate drops in this video then you are as blind as a bat. I love the way some people are going "oh it's cos your PC can't play 720p videos". I hate to break it to you but my PC sure as hell can and I can see the framerate issues, hell there is STILL popup going on in the video too. All in all not that impressed myself but then it's Rockstars problem they have chosen to use these limited machines.
Clutch107
I retract my last post, I can indeed spot some framerate drops. I suppose I just got lost in the excitement of the trailer that I overlooked it.
NoSkillz187
There are framerate drops in the cutscenes. Stop lying to yourself's about it looks fine. But I have faith in Rockstar, and i believe it will be smooth when the game is released.
ryuclan
Well I dont know why the console bashing has to occur. A lot of people don't like playing on PC's, I know I don't, the controller is the only way to go for me. But if you like playing on your pc, dont try to flame the consoles cause you have to wait a bit for the game. Just chillax. I would say 99% of the people on these forums actually have a pc so we all know the "limitless possibilities" of it. Also to me, it would cost too much to buy the neccessary graphics cards and whatnot to actually play next gen games on my pc.

No one is flaming consoles, we leave that for the glue holding the chips to the motherboard to do . The fact is there are framerate and pop up issues you can clearly see them in all three trailers. So that means either Rockstar can't program their way out of a paper bag, or the consoles clearly do not have the power to do what Rockstar want them too. It is up to you to decide which. I do agree this shouldn't become another PC vs Console thread. The issue here is "are there frame rate problems ?" the answer is most definately yes and if you can't see them, then try watching the video without your Rockstar glasses on. illspirit
One thing to keep in mind is that not all of the footage is brand new. It can take weeks/months of editing, mixing, and director approvals to piece together a trailer, so we could be seeing clips from a build in October. Some of it could be even older if they started on and planned to release the trailer before the game was delayed. If you go back and watch the trailers for San Andreas, even the one released like a week before the game had like half the draw distance in some scenes than the final product. ryuclan
But you give only two reason for why the framerate could be a little bad. Maybe it's not that black and white. Maybe there are shades of gray that we haven't discussed or even thought about. I mean if the framerate was so noticable, how come R* didn't fix it before releasing the trailer? Also wasn't most of that trailer made of cutscenes?

M. Too much emphasis on graphics and framerate is killing the video game medium artistically. Go back to the WoW boards! Nah jkjk, remember they still have about a hundred days left. They'll probably improve it a little.
YourNeighborhoodKiller
The fighting looked crappy to me, and yeah they are some problems like Roman hugs Niko but I guess they'll fix that later on.
swar.m
I was watching the 720p trailer and I sort of noticed them too. The only time it really looked really smooth was when it was really foggy and there was that car chase. Rockstar still have a few months to optimize all the shaders and sort out the definite texture compression, so I'm pretty sure they will be better by release, but still existent. Hopefully they'll wise up and release it for PC soon, where such a problem wouldn't be of concern.

Well of course they will make it for pc also...but why do most pc gamers have to be so smug? Cause they have to spend $2000 every 2 years in order to have a computer than can run the games that come out. No way im spending that much on upgrading my computer. Ph3L1z14n0
Stop exagerating people , there has always been frame rate issues in many games, SA's frame rate was a disaster, but that didn't make the game bad AT ALL!!!
Dan001
It must be the video software you are using. I watched all three trailers on WindowsMedia 11 and it was fine, but once I opened it with PowerDVD and there was framerate issues. So what I'm saying is...try other software. It just might work.
