Suction Testicle Man
Strange request this, but I have no idea how much my graphics card (which I'm about to sell) is worth. It's a BFG 7800GTX 512mb card. Problem here is that it was released Nov 2005, and promptly went out of stock everywhere as people bought it. It was the card at the time, and I saw the things go for upwards of $1k. In fact, I bought my own for $1k on special order from the US on the release date (don't ask, I had a lot of money back then). Production levels of this card never recovered from the amount of buyers, and they simply took the card out of production early in 2006, leaving the few that owned them in a very small minority. I can't even find a single auction for a 512mb version of one of these cards on ebay, new or old, let alone a BFG one (apart from one faulty one going for £1 here in the UK, and that's an XFX one anyway). Mine is in perfect working order, I still have the original packaging and bits and pieces to go with it, it's just a little dusty. My problem is I have no idea what the going used price for these things is. Don't forget it comes with a lifetime warranty to any owner since it's BFG. Does it's rarity even add something to the price? Enlighten me those with superior research skills, I can't find any more info on the subject. Thanks. james_root
i have just sold a gigabyte 7600 GT 256 mb for 90$ and bought an 8800 GT yesterday. it was pretty good deal. so you probably can sell it for 100$. why not try ebay or something? Rocketkiller
Those 512mb cards could go for a decent amount of money because they're so damn rare these days. Expect at least $150.

Fozzy Fozborne
@James, that's not brand new, it's refurbished (hence the "recertified"), it's a 7800GT which was much less powerful, and it's half the memory. So I'd say 150+ is a reasonable estimate.
stretch.
aim for £100, at least! I remember my dad trying to get a hold of one, I think he ended up switching to Ati after that. Christ I still remember Voodoo 4.
Suction Testicle Man
Thanks all, I'm going to start the bidding at 99p as always, but I think I'll go for a Buy It Now of £140. As others have mentioned, this card isn't a 256mb version - they're much more common and nowhere near as powerful, so aren't worth the same amount. The rarity factor is also something to take into consideration. If at first you don't succeed, you fail, and the test will be terminated.
