Just look at these pictures. http://media.gtanet.com/images/3760_gta_iv.jpg - In this pic you see the trees very orange which would suggest it is autumn and the hole ambienve and colour of the location is yellowish. http://media.gtanet.com/images/3762_gta_iv.jpg - In this pic, on the right side of the pic, you can see the tree bright green. The whole picture is glazed with sun - this may signify a warm period, which is summer. http://media.gtanet.com/images/3363_gtaiv_...iberty_yard.jpg - In this pic, take attention to the people. They are wearing very warm clothes, and it looks like a moody, dark day. the whole scene looks like cold weather, and may signify early winter!! The compare the above pic to this one: http://media.gtanet.com/images/3455_gta_iv_trailer.jpg The above picture shows a tourist in shorts and a Hawaiian shirt. I think there will definately be different seasond - and maybe even in the next trailer some snow will be shown........ NEW INFO AS OF 06/12/2007 Guys, check this out......there is snow!!! Thanks to ishouldntbehere for noticing this in the first place!! See the pile of white stuff near the road and then further back near the fence, well its snow. It cant be bird sh*t, white garbage - and certainly doesnt look like a glitch - its basically like a snowy sludge you would expect in early spring. This possibly shows that not only will it snow, and cover the ground, but it will make realistic transitions between seasons. This must be in early spring!! Also, just like I mentioned in my observations on the first page - all people there are wearing quite warm clothes, so it would reflect the cold conditions. I think there is 95% chance that that is snow!! Here is a zoomed version: Here is another screenshot of acclaimed ice patches on the path on the right. Although I think it is just puddles after a light shower - anything could be possible!!! Also notice the car Niko is driving. Looks like the wipers will now be used, as it shows that Niko just used the wipers to clean his glass from rain!! EDIT: There has been some debate about this - everyone is excited etc. I decided to put reasons why R* would and would not put seasons into the game: Why They Would - Much more realistic approach to the city, just what R* wants - Been mentioned in one of the previews, how Niko walks out and is greeted with a the month of October. Why would R* put for no reason months into the game. Might be for missions - like particular days in the month you can do a particular mission. But, even taking that into account - it would be VERY weird to have a 12 month year.........with no season changes - All the proof is in the pics. From the way people dress, to the colour and atmosphere of the city. It's all there - Would create so much more to the city, gameplay wise. It would change the formula for future games - Will make R* show off the RAGE engine, like never before - R* needed to change the formula for next-gen GTA. This would be easily one of the biggets changes in the series, making GTA new and fresh again. Will not be the same GTA we have been playing for the last 7 years. - There was snow in Liberty City when you visited it in San Andreas. - If I am not mistake, there were some signs of weather changes in Liberty City Stories. - IMO, you cannot leave out snow in a replica city of New York. It would be like leaving out the sun in a Game based on Miami. Point by rimbaud Why They Wouldn't - Too hard to develop - Not enough time - Technology not so advanced to allow such huge changes in the city - Laziness 3) This is exiting for Australian fans especially. Today R* confirmed the price of the Collectors Edition in Australia - retails at $149.95. More news and the pic of the package (with official boxart) is found HERE 4) Everyone wants to know if car customization will be in the game. Look at the below picture: http://media.gtanet.com/images/3761_gta_iv.jpg On top left there are huge ads about 'Mufflers', 'Oil Changes' etc.....I know this is not true evidence - but it does give some sign that car customization will be present in GTA IV. 5) Here are some digital versions of the screenshots that we have been seeing in print previews. Here, they are in clear glory from R*. Looks like R* does read these forums. Now look at the picture below..... Click I'm pretty sure Niko is standing on the corner of that street (notice the 'Yard' sign, and the signs on the brick wall next to it). Could this be 'proof' of buiding teams moving around the city (notice the cranes in my pic, and the lack of cranes in the other one.) I mean it's a bit of a stretch, but you never know. It always says $120 for RRP - only stores like EB actually follow it!!! Go into JB or Kmart - and most of them are like $90 anyway... And, I firstly got hints of weather in GTA IV from San Andres. The visit to Liberty City where it was snowing - was kind of weird, I though they wouldn't make that for no reason. Oh, and didnt Liberty City Stories have something to do with season changes!! It would be pretty easy to alter the driving between seasons anywaywithin the engine. Only a couple of lines of code. Damn - I am exited myself. Another hint, remember the first trailer - where it shows the car driving over the metal plate, the one they use for roadworks. Will there be ice on the streets that would send your car and others spinning, and cause you to slip and fall if you try to run on it? It would be funny seeing peds falling down on the sidewalks, struggling to get back up and falling again. Will Niko have to dress warmer in winter to avoid hypothermia? Maybe if he gets too cold his health goes down and he shivers a lot. It would be cool if you could see his breath in the cold too. Will there be snow plows and salt trucks? Could there be a ice rink at Central Park with peds ice skating? Leaves the possibily for a Zamboni in the game. People having snowball fights? Imagine hitting a cop in the back of the head with a snowball, then he slips on some ice trying to chase you.
