High res screenshots from July previews

You want criticism (see GTANet page)? Okay... the shot from Broker looking at Algonquin looks very unimpressive, I couldn't imagine why they'd want that to be representative of their new game. Looks empty and sh*ttily done.

Well, considering these pictures first were capture over 3 months ago, there's a valid reason why they don't look that impressive.

-"Put RON in your tank" - We can be sure now that it's an oil company.

-The Empire State Building doesn't look terribly accessible?

-Bus stop sign.

-The pizzeria looks accessible.

The 3rd screenshot with the sundown over broker and algonquin would have looked so much cooler if it were a night pic but still it's pretty breathtaking except for the fact that there's no cars or people around. I guess rockstar is really keeping the city a secret because Rockstar has mostly focused on this part and a little of the carney island part of Broker. Hopefully there's plenty of more neighborhoods to screw around in....oh and i hope we can go on top of the Empire state building at night because it would be breathtaking to see the city at night from there. All the bridges lit up, the tall skyscrapers, the traffic below, the lights from Star Junction. If rockstar doesn't make the Empire State Building accessible at night then i will be very mad

Not to be picky, but it does look a bit naked near the wooded area. But the sunrise is definitely nice. And if you'll look closely (and unless I'm seeing things), it would appear the street lamps in the distance are still on. I'm 50/50 on that screenshot. Still, it shows some great things. And remember, these screenshots were pretty old. I think we're all expecting too much.

Edit: Before someone thinks I was complaining, I was impressed that the streetlamps were still on. But I can see how one would think I was letting that all run together as a complaint. /Fixed

Yeah, seems they're monitoring some threads 'round here... Maybe it's coincidental though.

Let's see:

Can anyone make out what the CPR stands for on the side of the car..? Also, look at the smoke above the cops head. Looks awfully blue to me. Maybe some sort of tear-gas or something. Then again it could just be smoke from the engine, but looks bluish cuz it's behind the explosion or something weird.

Tire and rim look really good in this shot.

Definitely a pizzeria. "Pizza This! A pizza you can't refuse."

Thanks! biggrin.gif

PS - Rockstar, if you are reading this you will mention a banana-fish sandwich in the game somehow.

I also noticed the amount of detail in the rim of the van in that shot. The vehicles look a lot less blocky than in the previous GTA's, which is definitely good.

With the screen of when Niko is hanging off the top of the large truck near the Pizzeria, is it just me or does it look as though there is a large patch of blood on his back? Perhaps this could mean damage and blood decals are taking effect?
