That was me.. sad.gif .I got killed in this round,while coming back from LV.Thought I might have to start again due to the 'restart traps'.But I spawned at Michelle's place normally and didn't restart as I had done the two races. confused.gif .

Well, you shouldn't have saved. The restart traps are only if you get busted.

Anyways, I think we should continue the game as it is without bothering much about the one hospital visit, unless of course, if John decides otherwise.

Please do not exploit these loopholes as an excuse to break the rule that clearly states:

 

Do not save after getting busted or wasted.

 

Notice that this statement ends in a period. There are no excepts for how much you have accomplished, whether or not you think you can get away with it, or even collecting the everythingproof Mothership. If you want to save your progress after a death or arrest then use the Independent Play saves provide in the 1st post - or in other words, go play with yourself.

 

It sure would be nice if SnP would display the deaths, arrests, and times cheated on the download page along with the version ID and save name.

I'm disappointed that I missed checking the stats & let this sort of 'fall through the cracks'. Since we've made so much progress since, I'm ok with contunuing with that stat if everybody else is. I guess we could attribute it to a visit to rubregg.

 

@Necromancer.: You wrote about the 're-start traps' they are there so that the player has to re-start. It seems that it didn't work & didn't trap CJ where he couldn't save (This is explained by OrionSR above). We don't want to save after getting busted or wasted.

I just opened another window & checked the topic & found that I agree with OrionSR, please don't take advantage of the preceived loop hole, someone always checks the stats, I just did't check it early enough.

It's a rule of the game so please consider that if a similar situation occurs, the races can always be re-done.

Plenty of opportunities. My favourite is getting run over and stuck under a vehicle. Be it under cars, trucks, trains, airplanes. You name it I've been there rolleyes.gif

I even got stuck under an overturned boat in shallow water once, it left a small pocket of air preventing me from feeding the fishes before I could push it out in deeper water and swim out under it sigh.gif

As the Chain Game Creator: I basically only specified 3 rules: No Deaths, No Arrests, and No Cheats (Mods, or Trainers). Some people liked the basic idea but wanted a long list of rules so the topic was recreated into the 1st Chain Game with a rule set very similar to the Rules and Guidelines we are using now. You cannot ignore these 3 basic rules without destroying the foundation of the Chain Game.

 

As a Chain Game Developer: I've already done more than I should by installing the restart traps. I stated in the post with their positions that I thought the save was technically broken. That's why we started releasing Independent Play versions without the traps. However, the Officers have expressed annoyance at a need to constantly check the stats in search of something that should never be there unless someone was being less than honest about following the rules. I don't think there is anything else I can do to the save that can help them out, and I'm not sure I want to risk introducing new glitches by messing with things further. Future efforts in this area will probably lean toward early detection. It is unfortunate that I will be spending my time on this project rather than developing new features for future rounds.

 

I am not a Chain Game Officer: an honor I have carefully avoided so I can express my opinion on issues without the need to temper my words. However, I have never been shy about trying to excerpt my influence on opinions which I hold quite strongly.

 

As a Chain Game Player: I don't want to play without the 3 basic rules of no deaths, arrests, or cheats. On occasion I have agreed that it was better to continue with soiled stats than to repeat a long strand of missions, but this is mostly out of respect for the other players who have taken turns. Voiding several of their missions might ruin their enthusiasm for playing, so I'd rather keep playing than risk chasing them away.

 

I suppose someone could come up with a new name, create their own saves, start a new topic with their own rules, and invite people to play. You can find me in the latest round of the chain game if you want my opinion on why no one is calling turns.

 

I'd be happy to discuss the issue further, but we should take the conversation to the other room.

Can you point out those turns?

I went through all of the turns taken so far in this round and found none which broke the rules.

Well I guess I had I never really thought of that as being part of the job. I'll make sure from now on to check the stats section when I can.

Just in case there is any confusion on the races, here are the rules for the races.

 

Race Tournaments:

With the exception of the 3 races you do within the storyline (Lowrider, Badlands A/B), all races *are no longer Named Missions*.

--> You can do up to 3 races if you don't do a Named Mission as well.

--> You can do up to 1 race if you also do a Named Mission.

 

I stongley suggest that new players read the Rules/Guidelines, so we dont continue to have these kind of mistakes because somebody didn't read the rules.The rules are in the very first post, you cant miss them, unless you didn't read them.
