How about you guys give the game a chance? It's really not that awful...

After putting roughly 15 hours into the game, I'm still f*cking adoring it. I think you've just to accept that it's not Blood Money and let it be it's own game (notice I put game, not Hitman)

Because, it is a great game icon14.gif

Well, I bought this yesterday and I'm absolutely loving it! I'm more of a killer rather than going completely stealth.. but I will play the game both ways just to earn higher scores for each mission.

I'm also digging the cut scenes.. none of them having been boring enough to skip. So far, I give this game an 8.5/10. So if any of you are still skeptical, atleast rent it or borrow it from a friend. It's worth it!

Well..... I decided to get this game the other day. I had some fun, but I was mostly disappointed, granted I haven't finished it yet.

The game is fun, but it doesn't feel like Hitman, it isn't the game I wanted. It's hard for me to explain what I don't like about about this game, and it hurts putting it into words.... But almost every part of this game felt disappointing. It didn't have the sandbox quality the old games embraced. You can't really lay out a plan for an elaborate execution, but rather it feels like the game is guiding you through the level in sections, until you reach your target.

It just feels nothing like the previous game, which I adored...

I will complete this game, but only because I am obligated to. Afterwords I will probably most a more detailed rant, outlining how I feel overall abut Absolution. Then I will jump back into the previous games and relive some nostalgic moments.

I couldve told you it was going to be sh*t. I loved blood money, and this game looked nothing like it. Instinct? O.K. lol

There's a reason people call this game 5HITMAN.

You were not the only internet poster saying it was going to disappoint.

Don't pretend you're some outspoken truth-bringer, Zee.

I can say the same about Splinter Cell: Conviction. Good game, but a disgrace to the Splinter Cell name. The same applies here, only on a lesser level.

Exactly... a much lesser level. This game cannot be compared to the f*ckup in the Splinter Cell series. In other words, this doesn't apply.

Just finished on Hard with somewhat less Stealthy satisfaction and witness to more Murder of the original games throughout the segments of short levels, but it delivers with the manner it is planned for new players breaking many rules and personality of 47 to the previously engaging agent 47 known to many purists.

There are not many bugs and that's really cool compared to many new games BUT there are stupidity in disguise system which is a major flaw. THERE IS NO STORY AT ALL. Pure sh*t in the name of story and lamest villians ever seen. CINEMATICS!!..say a lot about the amazing new evolution by IO and outstanding graphics with details in every level and map making you keep replaying levels to adore every single moment.

Coming to Weapons. Very Loud and even more difficult to stealth kill with increased number of guards this time. Meaning you have to pull the trigger at least once in a level and keep switching from cover to cover leading to pull the guns rather wasting time and play hide and seek.

I just can't switch to first person mode like past hitman games (still trying to figure out) for that close up kills type of approach.

It's really hard to praise Hitman: Absolution but it's not that bad for an action dose of stealth. I have playing since first Hitman game and For me Hitman is finished both in game and as a fan. I wouldn’t want to play another rather play Thief 2 and enjoy the finer moments of good-old-days of stealth and there is Thief 4 to keep the hope alive.

Dude, I love these, did you do them? They're great.

It seems as though this is a very dividing game. On one hand people love it and on the the other hand, some people hate it. I love this game. Fu*king love it. And I've been playing these games since I was ten, so I guess you could call me a purist.

Everyone needs to chill out though on the hating, IO has made a brave decision changing up some of the classic elements. If it's not your thing, play it and trade it in for something you might like. At least it's better than AC3

So far with the story, I don't mind it. The characters for me are well rounded and I hate the Blake Dexter character, which is a testament to the writing.

So in the end, it may not be the Hitman that you're used to or the one that you were expecting, but it still works.

I'm really loving this game. I played Blood Money on the Xbox and I couldn't quite get into it (probably because I sucked at the concept) but I'm actually really trying to take it slow on levels now and its really working out so much better. So glad I got it on PC and not 360 too.

Death to Spies 3 is feel more Hitman games than Hitman: Absolution....

It's world war 2 Spy game and it's copy of Hitman Blood Money but an improved version.

I liked Conviction too, but it really didn't feel like a splinter cell game. But if you remember back when Double Agent came out, people were complaining about that not having enough stealth...

There just are not going to be games like that anymore. They don't sell enough. I think Hitman Absolution did a great job of, well, breathing new life into the series. They aren't going to just release super hard stealth games anymore. It does feel like a Hitman game. If you turn the difficulty up to hard or the one above hard (I forget, the game has 5 difficulty levels and hard is only the 3rd highest, there are two above it) it feels like the old games. The lower two difficulties allow you to run and gun everyone. I feel as if those bitching about the game not being 'hitman' are not playing the game properly. If you look at the difficulty screens it makes it ridiculously clear that the lower the difficulty, the more rambo the game is going to be. Easy mode when you highlight it, has two silverballers unsilenced. Regular mode has one silverballer unsilenced, hard has one silenced, expert has the fiberwire, and purist has only hands. So as you can see if you are looking for stealth, go for the higher difficulties.

Is it better than BM?

If u want more action Absolution is the choice. But if u want social stealth game BM is better. The disguise system in Absolution is sucks.

I thought it looked familiar. I love that particular kind of art, they use it in the Walking Dead game as well

Yeah but thankfully they're supposed to be patching it so you don't get spotted from miles away in a didguise

I'm kinda juggling the idea of buying this game. I love Agent 47 and I absolutely adored Blood Money, but this honestly seems to take away everything I loved about it. No more saving when we want, scripted kills and other events, forced action sequences, not being able to pick our own weapons before missions... The disguise system is the biggest complaint of them all, but let's assume that they really are fixing it with the patch. Correct me if I'm wrong about any of the flaws I named, but the reviews I watched mentioned all of those. And they also mentioned that the levels are mostly linear with an open mission every now and then to spice things up. Doesn't sound promising, really. I wish there was a demo to really make me decide.

I honestly would wait to rent it, or just leave it be altogether. If you love Agent 47 and adored Blood Money, you don't want to play this.

Anyone else going for the challenges throughout the missions? I was doing it in the beginning but ever since the last 4-5 missions though Dexters Lab I'm finding it really difficult. I should probably just go for shooting the sh*t out of everybody and see how it turns out haha.

That's what I'm doing currently. I want to get the story out of the way and then I'll go back and try for all the challenges.

Same.

It has been dumbed down, but I still like the beauty of it. One review I read said it jumps from awesome to bad in the blink of an eye and I think that pretty much sums it up. Flawed disguise system, GTA-type magic pockets for big guns, flawed checkpoint system (what was wrong with the save system from Blood Money?)... but still quite fun.
