Vanillainy
The game's friggin amazing. Meh. After playing for a while now, at first it was perfect, great fun. Now its "LOL LOOK AN ASSASSIN". I mean, im only f*cking walking past I don't have a sign above me saying Assassin. Quite annoying. And the fighting blows. Not too impressed so far, buts its alright. Rebel
When I first got the game, I must of played it near enough for about 4/5 hours a day of the game. I'm on the last assassination, from when I last played, which is about 2 weeks ago now. And to be honest when I think I should go and play the game, I don't want to because I find it repetitive and near the end you can't even usually walk around without getting noticed which gets abit tedious after awhile. I know exactly what you are talking about: You walk past someone and they drop something which results in you being accused of being an assassin. Slick Willy
I gotta say, this game got me thinking about gaming sites and magazines that review games. I think that aside from handing out a score and writing a review, they should answer a simple question: is the game worth $60? Would it serve better as a rental? I say this because I was really pumped about the game. I had been watching trailers, preordered it, the whole 9. I bought it when gamestop opened and played it for most of the day. By the time the sun went down, I was ready to trade it in (after the 4th assassination or so). Certain aspects of the game were bad ass and very innovative, but the game was not worthy or anything over a 7/10 if you ask me. The story wasn't that great and made little sense, and the gameplay became repetetive after the 2nd assassination. One can only climb up so many towers, "pickpocket" and "eavesdrop" on so many people. The combat was cool as hell until my thumb became tired from mashing the X button repeatedly, for some reason it doesn't seem as cool if you're just using one button repeatedly. Some games can get away with their repetetive nature if there is an interesting storyline and a little more variety (like GTA for instance is essentially the same game throughout, but some minor touches make it a whole new experience from mission to mission). I apologize, I'm getting more irritated as I write this. Anyway, I traded the game in the next day and am currently much more entertained by Mass Effect. Anyone else feel the same way? Forty
I did almost exactly the same thing. I bought it with excitement, and after I got to the 4th assassination, I didn't even want to play anymore. It was repetitive and boring, and a lot of the tics started getting to me. Especially being able to hit Blend and get away with basically anything you want. I traded it in for Mass Effect and haven't looked back.

Your not alone dude, a lot of people, including myself, feel exactly the same way. This game was hyped way too much when in reality it is a pretty average game. I was sick to death of it after the 3rd or 4th assassination too. The thing that pissed me off is that you had to climb those damn viewpoints to see where pickpocet missions and informants were..not being an ass but how the f*ck could Altair see all that from way up there? The A.I was some of the worst I have ever seen in a game, the guards actually take turns to fight you, I mean if I was one of them guards I would have just shouted "charge the bastard" and that would be the end of that, but no; all they do is take turns running at you and you counter each and every one of them. The story, in my opinion, was a load of sh*t and also I thought you didn't really know much about your targets, it was; just kill this guy after you have done a few mindless missions. And don't get me started on the issue of how everyone knows your an assassin for no good reason like :If you run instead of walk on your horse past guards they instantly shout "Assassin!". I'm very, very disappointed with AC. Mass Effect is after taking its place in my 360 now. Rant over. Edited December 3, 2007 by Nixon
Voodoo
x10. I finished it, and it was mostly a good experience (common gripes excluded) but I haven't touched it since I picked up Mass Effect 10 or so days ago. When I think about all of those damned flags it just pisses me off. What are we - hamsters on a wheel?

tuff_luv_capo
Anyone who thinks this game was hard needs some bonding time withe their "X" button. I beat the game in 4 days using only long sword and assasinations, it wasn't until my second playthrough that I found out how simply you could just throw-knife everything. But yea, not worth 60 dollars.

MMFF
Finished it yesterday. I agree with most of the things being said about it. I do think they had a good concept, and good gameplay, the story just didn't use it well. I will get the next one, as I think they will have their sh*t sorted out by then. And I want to see what happens.
sainraja
I think some people here are being very unfair to this game. I like the open-ended gameplay. I also understand why the fighting is the way it is.......ofcourse they could have at least one other guard to try to jump in and fight with you instead of one by one, but can anyone show me how else they could have done it? Deuce Deuce
My status is I need at least 3 investigations (and thus need to climb viewpoints to locate them), but there aren't any viewpoints left in any of the cities as far as I can see. wtfux. Double check on your map that there was no "viewpoint" marking there, and climb it. If you get up high enough in areas, you can find additional viewpoints. etc.

I had to climb a viewpoint and I already had them all in the district. Just go to another district (rich, poor, middle) and look for a view point, they shouldn't be marked on the map since Its a new area.

Deuce Deuce
Ok thanks for that, I'll give it another play in a bit. edit - meh, still can't find any. Do I have to do the other stuff like save citizens etc to actually progress through the game? Edited December 4, 2007 by Deuce Deuce

To make it easy, look on the map and go towards the fog. Once you are in the foggy section of the map, try and find an eagle flying above.

Do I have to do the other stuff like save citizens etc to actually progress through the game? Not sure, but I don't think so. Just go to a section you haven't been to before, one that may have been blocked off earlier and climb a viewpoint, syncronise and it should work fine. Vanillainy
About half of the map in each city is blocked off. There is three sections in each: Poor, Middle and Rich. Place a marker in one of the ones you haven't been to before and try to get to it, if it is blocked, try the other one. If not then try a different city? If that fails then you're pretty much screwed.
sainraja
About half of the map in each city is blocked off. Look at the map for foggy areas, head towards them and find a tower to climb up on (tower won't be marked as a viewpoint in your radar), once you do that, you should be able to find other viewpoints and newer missions. GTA3Freak-2001
Just started playing and even after one assassination I can see and already feel the repetition that is to follow throughout the game. Sure I can see how you could try and tackle things differently each time but really when it comes down to it its the same general process. The game is great otherwise, the fluidness of the characters and their animations are stunning as are the graphics.
