Lounge for The Chain Game: San Andreas

P.S. I'm not sure but I noticed when the cops were chasing me, the cop cars were falling from rooftops and I know thats not normal, nor is it even suppose to happen. Could somebody check it out? It might be a glitch! Oh yeah I did this mission last round and it didn't happen, nor has it ever happened to me in my entire 4yr SA experience on both PC and PS2.

Actually, it is not all that unusual for cop cars to rain from the sky. This glitch has been documented before, but I can't seem to find the topic. Too bad, Phreak had some pretty good screenshots. There are Police Trigger Zones scattered around San Andreas. When CJ has a wanted level and enters a trigger zone then cops spawn on foot or in cars to block his path. pdescobar made a map of the zones, but I can't find that either. There are several locations where the cops are supposed to shoot out from under a covered area, but the police trigger zones don't include a Z parameter for altitude, so sometimes the cops spawn on top of buildings. This is most noticeable at the entrance to the LV police parking lot, and along the road where the minigun is located in the underground parking lot.

Update: Thanks for the link to the trigger map, hmvartak.

Interpreting the trigger map:

When PD made this map the police trigger zones were not well defined. At the time we thought that the coordinates that specify where the cops spawn (blue or lines) transcribed a rectangle. Since then we have discovered that these coordinates define a starting point and a direction of travel.

Dunno about the original topic, - but I still have my screenshots:

And this is where it's coming from:

I killed Millie for her key card xD

Cheap! Has anyone ever been so low as to permanently kill off a girlfriend in the Chain Game before?

Can we make a rule against killing off Millie or Denise, or letting their progress drop so far that they dump CJ? Once they are gone we can't get them back without editing the save.

Actually I thought it was pretty cool that he that; it’s a change of pace. Does every Chain Game need to be identical?

Making rules about not killing the girlfriends would deter me from wanting to play. Cheating is one thing, but not this.

Several rounds ago it was stated that certain missions needed to be played in a particular order, and that kept me from playing for a long time.

That’s just opinion, nothing more... not a big deal.

I agree with Zoom on this one. We can add 'not killing girlfriends' as a suggestion but it would be harsh to enforce it as a rule. After all, we always give the player the independence to do the missions as they want in their own ways.

I agree with Zoom and Girish. I think the killing of girlfriends falls under;

Mission strategy is up to the caller - just don't use cheats, trainers, mods or cleo scripts.

It's not breaking the rules, so I don't see a problem with it. While the killing of the girlfriends shouldn't be recommended, it shouldn't be against the rules either.

Millie Perkins - October 26, 2004 to September 26, 2009

I loved her so much it hurt.

Late last night Millie was murdered by a punk ass busta for a Key Card she would have gladly given up for a few drinks, a nice dinner in a fancy restaurant, inexpensive gifts, an occasional kiss, a little iced coffee, and a cut of the profits. Millie was one of our favorite six girlfriends and will be sorely missed.

As many of the people who loved her most are well aware, Millie enjoyed slow drives in rich neighborhoods, business and shopping districts, and areas of entertainment, but not many people know how much she enjoyed sitting and chatting in a parked car during sunset or sunrise. Millie also had a preference for muscular men, but rarely complained if her date was out of shape.

Rest assured Millie Perkins, this selfish and senseless act of violence will be avenged.

Services for Millie are scheduled at the Palomino Creek Cemetery on Tuesday, September 29th, 2009 from 12:00 until 22:00.

Yes , because this cheap easy way is Against the real exitment that our chain Game gave it to us!

So why not , next time @ the next chain Game , we wake a Special Turn witch we make Millie Likes Carl and give him her card! And also , we make a rule AGAINST killing Girlfriends!

If you look at it this way, Rockstar programmed San Andreas to give the player a choice, and that choice is to either let Millie live or die, neither of those choices are wrong; it’s simply up to the player to decide how the game should progress.

In a similar way, on the GTA IV Chain Game, choices must be made on whether certain characters should live or die… should there be a rule there too that states that all Chain Game players should choose to let them all live?

Again, just my opinion.

There is a rule for that on the IV version of the Chain Game quoted here from the IV Chain Game:

Storyline Mission Choices:

Note: Spoilers follow. The preferred choices are just a suggestion.

Mission Kill or don't Kill/Choice Consequence Suggested Choice

Ivan the not so Terrible Kill Ivan Will or will not return as Random Character Don't Kill Ivan

Ruff Rider Kill Cherise Will or will not return as Random Character Don't Kill Cherise

Holland Nights Kill Clarence Will or will not return as Random Character Don't Kill Clarence

The Holland Play Kill Playboy X or Kill Dwayne Get Playboy X's house/Dwayne will send gang members Kill Playboy X

Blood Brothers Kill Francis McReary or Derrick McReary Can call Francis to clear wanted level if Derrick killed Kill Derrick

That Special Someone Kill Darko No difference Player's option

One Last Thing Deal or Revenge Niko gets $250000 & Kate will be killed Revenge

Here's a link to Storyline Choices by en.wikiGTA.org

I couldn't figure out how to copy the table, so here's a link to the topic: GTA IV Chain Game.

I think it would be a good idea to have the same rule for Millie and Denise, as they can only be obtained through missions-Denise being "Burning Desire" mission, and Millie from a Las Vegas mission during the robbing the bank at Caesar's Heist from the Imperial Palace casino strand. The other girlfriends are fine as is, since they can be obtained at any time again simply by remeeting them at the original locations.

Something I find a little odd, is why is the SA Chain Game in the Mission Help section whereas the IV Chain Game is in the PC Section? Just curious.

Good job on the Obituary Orion, but I thought the only cemetary was in Las Brujas where you meet the Crash team during the High Noon mission. lol.giftounge.gif

radioman, please note that those aren't rules. They're 'suggested choices'. It's upto the player to decide whether or not he wants to go with the suggested choice.

And we didn't start the IV Chain Game in the IV Mission Help forum because it's pretty inactive as compared to the PC forum.

Thanks for the clarification Girish, I was just curious about the different sections-I thought the PC Section was the best choice for both Chain Games-SA and IV. I know that the SA one was started in Mission Help, because back when JAJ started it there was no dedicated PC Section at the time.

If i'm not mistaken, I think this is the first time we have had this happen since I started playing around round 4 or 5?

I have two reasons why I killed her.

My computer kept crashing late at night and it got really annoying. I finally got San Andreas to run and I was going to use the gimp suit to seduce Millie; so she would give me the key card. When I walked into the red marker, the game crashed for some weird reason.

The other reason why I killed her is because it's close to the end of the game. I didn't think it would matter because no one would play the same save file after we completed everything. Is anyone going to still play it?

I'm not using any mods or anything. My computer has been weird lately, it set it's appearance to classic on it's own and I can't switch it back. I tried to run San Andreas from Start/Play GTA San Andreas but then the menu would freeze. After I kept typing Ctrl+Alt+Delete and after a minute or so it would unfreeze its self.

Yes , because this cheap easy way is Against the real exitment that our chain Game gave it to us!

After the chain is completed, I don't even think anyone is going to play it after it's all finished.

You don’t need to explain yourself, kamuran; you did nothing wrong. Killing Millie to get the access card is a valid choice; that’s how Rockstar designed the game.

There are people who play San Andreas a certain way, and they expect everyone else to play it the same way as they do, like there are hidden rules to the game that everyone must follow.

It reminds me of the very first 4-Star video that I ever made on YouTube.

Here’s the actual first comment I received on it:

men u didn't even completed to get to las venturas you dumb ass

So according to fighter509, I was a “dumb ass” for accessing Las Venturas while it was still locked. I wasn’t playing by his rules.

I think some people are being too serious about this… it’s a game, and we’re suppose to have fun, not get angry.

That reminds me of this one kid that told me that going to Las Venturas to get the Minigun in the beginning of the game is glitching/cheating.

and the only was to ge tto las venturas at the begining of the game would be to glitch it, which is still cheating

I believe there is a very known glitch in the CG48. Ever since the start of the round I have been seing a car or two drive backwards on the roads. I think It's the same one on hmvartak's Glitch Repair Site. Has anybody else noticed this in the round yet and if so can we try to fix it for round 49. it tends to mess me up on driving missions cause alot of the time the vehicle will try to flipabitch and drive forwards as soon as i'm trying to pass them. it's down right annoying.

No, I haven't noticed cars driving backwards but I have noticed cars sticking out of the ground. I took a screen shot of one sticking out of the ground today but I forgot to save it again.

It doesn't happen alot, just when I don't want it too, LOL! If I had to guess it has only occured about 6 times out of the 10 or so turns I've taken this round. It's not that big of a deal to me, but it might be for some of the other players. Just lookin out for everybody else.

Stefan. has done RIOT before even taken all the terretories , so now it will be more difficult!

Surely we don't have to own 100% of all territories, do we? I thought the prerequisite for 'End of the Line' was 35% of territories, and currently we have 43%.

With all of LV and SF territories taken over there is

enough % to continue without having to take any

more territories......

It would probably be best to avoid getting too involved. As many of the long-time CG players are well aware, I have a habit of spouting out for the sake of stimulating a discussion.

There are people who play San Andreas a certain way, and they expect everyone else to play it the same way as they do, like there are hidden rules to the game that everyone must follow.

And sometimes there are players who are not getting their accustomed levels of nicotine.

We can add 'not killing girlfriends' as a suggestion but it would be harsh to enforce it as a rule.

There oughta be a rule! Now that he's killed once and gotten away with it you can be sure more deaths will follow. He's developed a taste for blood for which there is no cure. Lock him up and throw away the key.

I have two reasons why I killed her.

Yeah, yeah. Likely story. I think what really happened is that you got a carried away with the fantasy games at the end of the date and snuffed the poor girl. Only a sicko-perv punk-ass-busta would do such a thing.

This is definitely not OrionSR biggrin.gif !! Why the anger if it's real?

@CG Players: I guess there's majority of us(including myself) who say that girlfriends shouldn't be killed at any circumstances and hence, may be the officers should consider the rules relating to these things.

People are getting upset about silly things like killing girlfriends, and want to rules against it. Sorry, but the fun is lost; there's just too much anger.

Please count me out from playing the Chain Game anymore… buh-bye.

I tried coming back, but... oh well.
