I don't see anything unsupportive in Perkinator7168's commentary - he suggested that he messed up after all. Anyway, I have no time to look into the matter but I noticed this in your post, vassily:

 

 

I have a clean GTA SAN ANDREAS V1!
If you have a clean v1 then you can't play the chain game without changing your scripts to v2. ...or, as it is, converting the save to v1 - which is explicitely a no-no.

Oh my goodness. Im so sorry guys. Fu*k im pissed at myself right now.

Ok, since im on a downgrader patch, my saves load to SnP as V1. I did convert the save to V2 myself. Im not sure what i was thinking at all, actually. It was about 1am sad.gif

So sorry for all the confusion. But thank you very much for sorting it out, everyone.

 

And yes, girish, im going to reinstall my game and play without the downgrade patch from now on. It just seems safer.

 

@Vassily: I did not use cheats, trainers or mods. I would never do that. I know better than to do that. Although, it seems, i dont know better than to convert my save, especially on such an important mission suicidal.gif

Are you serious? I think i know slightly more about the CG than you mate. Clearly, in bold, size 7 and a nice orange colour, it says: "It has been 6 hours since the last turn was completed". Not, "since the last turn was forfeited".

Hence, i called the reset on Orion's turn which was 6 hours and 1 minute later.

GC, do you realize that you converted the save from v2 scripts to v1 scripts? That v1 stuff you see on GTASnP is only reporting which executable was used. That can be ignored.

I do....now.

Also, Orion, in my last turn there were quite a few spawning errors that i thought you might be interested in (because i remember you talking about ones in Doherty?). I was only able to get 2 screenies. I had three, but forgot to paste the third one into a paint document before Ctrl-Copying something else. It was probably the best one as well.

Anyway, this one i was driving towards Palomino and a Taxi spawned half in, half out of the wall. I was overtaking at the time and couldn't stop and get a pic. I saw it shuddering all over the place though. By the time a came back, it was gone. It was in the direction of the freeway above (going towards LV).

This one is El Carona happened more than once. I was coming from the safehouse and it spawned on the road, perpendicular to the way it should be going. I dodged it, turned around and saw it drive it a straight line and hit that wall. I dont know if you can tell, but its wheels are squealing and smoking as it pushes against the wall.

 

The last two: One was at the Flint Intersection, a white admiral car spawned as if it was going to go up the off ramp, then did a U-Turn on the grass and headed off in the direction of the Trucking missions.

 

The second is the one i lost the screenshot of. I was going along the freeway from Flint Intersection to Angel Pine and a Journey spawned perpendicular to the road, did a U-Turn on the grass median (when i took the shot) then i just took off. Didn't wait to see what it did next.

 

Also, what is with the excessive amounts of 'bikes spawning without riders' along that road. Everytime i go along there in the CG saves, it happens. I am always travelling at high speeds, but there are literally 2 every 10 seconds of riding along that road.

GC. thanks for the spawn report. I ran a stress test on your Whirly Bird save and didn't see anything unusual. In fact, most of the problems I was having before have pretty much cleared up. If these spawns are causing you trouble then perhaps adjusting your draw distance or toggling the Frame Limiter might reduce the frequency of these problems.

 

BTW, I'm not so sure that the bikes spawn in without riders so much as they spawn in backwards or sideways while traveling at speed so the driver instantly falls off, and then rapidly unspawns.

 

Oh yeah. When I was having spawn problems I saw a few vehicles spawning inside the road. I forgot to mention that symptom.

 

Here's a spawning question that is unrelated to the spawning of random traffic: Has anyone noticed parked vehicles spawning in late. I'm mostly curious about the "vehicle plan" parked cars, but not the girlfriend cars; they tend to spawn late because the girlfriend scripts are constantly hiding and unhiding them. An extreme example of "late" would be; late enough for a helicopter to spawn on top of CJ and crush him to death.

No problem. And, oh yeah, my draw distance could be a factor because i usually run it two bars away from full. I'll reduce it next time i play.

That sounds plausible. Surprising that they unspawn rapidly, though.

There is no where else that i have found that the amount of them is so high, though. Just this road? Or do i not pay enough attention? tounge.gif

 

EDIT: Also, i thought i'd post these (dark) screenshots of the WOWAI vehicle for this round. I don't think any pictures were posted yet:

I dont think it gets any lighter in that part of the city. Probably should've turned the brightness up on the screen.

 

EDIT2: @Orion: Im not sure if you're interested, probably not (cos it was on an old save) but this was a spawning error in Tierra Robada by a Clover in the CG 47's 100% save:

I've seen my share of spawning errors, but rarely and without a recognizable pattern. Vehicles spawning backwards in traffic happens more often than vehicles stuck in map objects, but all of these are very rare for me and I can't see a difference between chain game saves and none-chain-game ones.

 

One I've seen more than once, and that happened north of the airstrip. On 4 wanted stars, going south (towards the airstrip) coming from the Seasparrow spawn, cop cars spawn under the bridge and stuck in the bridge object. I guess they are supposed to spawn on the bridge but appear way too low.

 

As for the chain game vehicle spawns, I haven't spotted any late spawns or errors at all, and I have been actively looking after reading that warning in the release description.

I think I found a couple of possible glitches, but i'm not sure if they are Chain Game exclusive or not. The first one is, every now and then cars will get stuck in the road-where the front end is actually sticking in the road and the back end of the car is sticking straight up. The second one, is with the Wheels Arch Angels mod garage in San Francisco, when you drive into the red marker in the garage(I used a Sultan?-I think that's the actual in-game name for it), and the car is supposed to be frozen in place to check out the mods and what not, but you are able to still drive forward and backwards within the garage. The first one I discovered on my Vista desktop, and the second one I discovered on my Vista laptop, if that helps.

 

Also, a little off topic here, but while i'm here, I figure i'll ask. Why is it that the Xliveless thing is needed in order to load the Chain Game saves for IV, when the SA Chain Game saves load just fine without any thing extra? Just curous about this one. Thanks Girish for the help with locating the save location for IV over in the IV Chain Game Lounge. I mean, there is only one version of IV for PC right? and yet there are three versions of SA, but SA doesn't have that problem but IV does. Just curious why about this.

I don't understand, but will go along with whatever you say. I think it is wrong as the reset was not called when it normally is. But, again, I go along with your decision.

There was still 6 hours in between my last turn and Perkinator7168's turn. If an officer was there, they would've called it and i would be able to have a go. They weren't, so i called it and took my valid turn.

I dont see anything wrong with it. It has been done many times in the past.

Not the one that i just did.

You did 2 named missions in your last turn. Note that "Back to School" and "Learning to Fly" are named missions and please be more careful next time.

 

 

Note that "Back to School" and "Learning to Fly" are named missions and fall under the 'one named mission rule'. "Boat School" and "Bike School", however, are not named missions and can be done with any other named mission.

Did we modify the barriers on the San Francisco bridge? Because I just noticed just now, that the AI drivers can drive right thru the barriers and there is a lot of traffic spawning in between the barriers, as seen in the following pictures: here's #1, #2, and #3. This is on a Chain Game save also. Is this normal?

This is not normal. The locked (by barriers) parts of freeways shouldn't have any traffic, there normally are "forbidden_for_cars" zones there which will get removed after YKBB. You said "also" - does that mean you have this error in chain game saves as well as in non-chain-game ones?

 

Oh, and please don't post big images in here, they blow up the board. Thumbnails and/or links would be much appreciated by low-res twats like myself... smile.gif

 

I'll have a look at our save.

 

Edit:

I checked out our last two saves and couldn't see anything wrong with bridge traffic. I had a look at Gant Bridge, Garver Bridge and the Panopticon Bridge and even though I don't have the barriers (I'm on v1) the traffic still behaved as if they were there.

I have only seen this on the Chain Game save. I was using a save from the Chain Game from a few rounds back. I think it was the round 46 starter save that I was using.-I know it was a round where V2 had the barriers, since I have V2 and the barriers were in place. This threw me off, because this is only the second time I have seen this since I started playing SA back in 2006. As you can see from the pics., I still had SF missions, therefore, Ya Ka Boom has not been completed.

 

Sorry about the pics, I will post them as links next time, since i'm not sure how to post thumbnails on this board. I edited my last post and replaced the pictures with links instead of the big pictures.

Well like I said these cars shouldn't spawn and for me they don't in the current chain game save. I can't remember about round 46, I haven't played that much and I don't remember if I even got near those barriers. Has anyone else ever noticed glitched traffic like this?

Yes, that's normal. Most of the interiors are really located about 1000 units above sea level. There's a large concentration of interiors above the Lil Probe Inn; I suspect that's what you were looking at. If you had bailed above the train tunnel near the Jefferson Hotel you may have spotted some save disks, or perhaps all of the armory pickups.

It is preferred that you make your homework a priority - get it done first, the chain game will always be here. Homework & school obligations are much more important than the chain game & anyone that realizes this & acts accordingly gets my support & respect. As for the Quarry missions, I won't do it & if nobody else gets it you can do it but we do not support 'pre-calling' or reserving missions.

 

@ laezy & DREVIL919, Have you guys sent the wowai stuff to rubregg yet? The sooner you do, the sooner he can start the next round. If you guys already have, thanks!

I just guessed the possible surroundings from the given clues(which turned out to be correct) without actually pointing the exact spot or the vehicle in question. So !!GameCH33TA!! can do the honors of picking the hiding spot for the next round WOWAI vehicle. icon14.gif

 

Furthermore due to some personal commitments & limited net connectivity i might not be able to visit the forums, which in turn affects my participation in the chain game in the near future. But i wish a long and bright future for the Chain game and hope to join later, when normalcy returns to my routine. Aw, crap. I thought that Monster B at Santa Maria was proofed when I saved it, but apparently I screwed something up along the way. I'm not sure what I did wrong; maybe next time. Anyway, there's nothing special about that car so there's no need to hang on to it if someone needs a parking spot.
