@Orion, I think that if you could do a modded VC save like the SA one, then a Chain Game for VC might do pretty well. What do you think?

I'd be happy to provide technical support for custom VC or GTAIII Chain Game saves, but I lack any inspiration.

New unique jumps:

 

The other day I noticed in an unmodded game that those two ramps in the Foster Valley Mall (inside and on the roof) weren't there. Added objects like the boat ramps or the pirate ship, right?

 

BTW I really like these four new jumps (the 'southern SF bunch'), well done smile.gif

PD was back after a short break recently and he got the 'Best Returning Member' award too. But he's got busy with his life again I guess. As for the rest, I haven't seen them post in a long time. They too are, most probably, busy with their lives.

@Girish: Why dont you post your breathtaking record in the SA record books?? Man!!! 5 minutes is out of the world. This involves uploading and downloading time too right?? Well, it's not an official in-game stat so it doesn't qualify for an record. Also, not everyone has the same internet connection, so the uploading/downloading time for everyone is going to be different. Nonetheless, I just felt like mentioning it so I did. tounge.gif

Also noticed that our money is now in the negative. Is that the UFO glitch which Orion has been talking about?

The large dept is the UFO Curse, but not a glitch. However, a "glitch" will occur if someone was to visit the Wheel O' Fortune; this could either max out the money or put CJ even deeper in dept, depending on the choices.

Wow, so much of news behind this eh? I never knew this. Can we remove this dept Orion?? It looks kinda odd. Also, i noticed that before i attempted the mission "Stowaway" the money was somewhere 160000 odd. After the mission it was 150000odd. It drops.. wow.gif Damn . biggrin.gif

Some hints on how to reduce the 'UFO Curse' debt:

  • collect from the assets
  • kill the Mafia hit squads & collect the dropped $
  • collect from the dealers
  • collect the $ from the Pirate ship near Toreno's
  • collect the $ from The 4 Dragons Casino
  • do some of the odd jobs again; (example) Freight Train will yeild $50000
  • there are also 'other' ways to get $ if you use your imagination...
  • Edit: CJ can get some food by taking a girlfriend on a diner date

Apologies to OrionSR, I missed the hint in the last round to do the UFO Curse & was away from my gaming computer too long to get it started for that round.

Wow, those Mafia guys are really loaded. I swear I pickup up close to 15k from a single hit squad.

 

Besides food dates, which tend to be more rare later in the dating routine, other sources of health are to jack a Hotdog Truck (hence the new spawn in the Panopticon), enter an Ambulance, or visit the armory for a heart icon. Food dates are the only significant contribution to a low fat level.

 

No need to apologize. There's an ebb and flow to the rounds and there isn't always an opportunity to try out everything. We're coming pretty close to a complete game on this round, 100% plus all the extras. Well, no video scores, that messes up the easter eggs anyway.

 

Oh yeah... I think rubregg's get well message is still in place.

As far as I remember: Ambulances and hearts doesn't count as eating, only for health.

Only the Hotdog truck count as a meal (CJ stops loosing health due to starving)

 

I can't recheck it myself (haven't got a functioning PC capable of running SA at the moment)

I'm fairly certain you are correct. That's the way I figure it when deciding on a meal. Saving, (getting busted or wasted) will also solve the hunger problem, but it doesn't seem to contribute any fat. I've also noticed that Coffee seems to be fairly fattening. I frequently get pop up messages reporting CJ change of fat level during the coffee cut-scene at the end of a date, so perhaps a dance or driving date can still pad the fat a little. Or, perhaps the body rebuild from the dinner date doesn't get applied until CJ enters the cut-scene.

When the UFO Curse was started in an earlier round or during testing, the debt was much higher, I would guess between $3 mil & $5 mil, the hit squads consisted of 2 carloads of hitmen (4 per car) & when all were killed they droped about $90000.

In this round when I played the debt was $1.3 mil - there was 1 car that had 4 hitmen in it & when killed they droped about $40000 to $45000.

I talked to my brother about his turn & he said with the debt at $24000 that there was 1 car with just 2 hitmen in it & they droped about $15000. So it looks like the greater the debt, the more hitmen are sent after CJ.

Yes, I experience that on my normal saves as well. But I have never seen 2 cars attack me

cacarla: This isn't very important but I'd just like to point out that the Triathlons were already done in this round by OrionSR earlier, so it wasn't quite necessary. Still, thanks for trying to help fill in the blank spots. icon14.gif

Okay, I'm not really expecting anyone to understand or even care, but I just figured out how to rework all the enex connections on existing saves. All I need to do is delete all the existing data and load the save with the modified files and the game rebuilds the new links. Up until now it was believed that a new game was required to implement changes to the links between all the doors in the game.

 

I'll ask again since the question got lost. I looked through the scripts to see if I could learn more about the Debt script responsible for spawning the Mafia during the curse. Should I post what I've learned, or let people investigate the hitmen using conventional methods? If it makes any difference, JAJ's current observations are pretty much on target, and there doesn't appear to be much more to it.

Well, I'm not sure how the enex information will be useful just yet, but if I document things well then someone is liable to come up with a cool application. Basically this discovery means it's pretty easy to update my old saves with the new warps and hideouts we use in the chain game.

 

The main factor in the Dept script is how much money CJ owes. If the dept is -1 to -4999 then only the driver is placed in the car. Additional passengers are added at -5000, -50000, and -500000. Normally, the max possible dept is limited to -1000000, the most that can be borrowed from the casino. Each Mafia attacker gets their money set to 10000. I wasn't unable to find anything that would spawn 2 Mafia cars, but perhaps they can remain on the map long enough for 2 cars to eventually be together. And that's all I could figure out so far. Maybe we'll learn more with additional observations.

Had to try 4 times before I managed to start the mission from Unity Station onwards.

You're right Afinn.. This is a common problem for me. To Overcome this problem Girish had a great idea. It was to recruit Gang members near unity station since that is the mission starting point, by capturing all the territories around there and recruit Gang members from that place instead og GS. Doing this , the travelling distance reduces and chances of the homies falling out purposefully is less. Precisely, i passed all the times i took a turn for this mission following the above strategy. smile.gif

It's difficult to predict when they'll bail out on you. One thing that frightens them is a nearby explosion. So, maybe if you steer clear of explosions they won't bail out. In some cases, they get frightened by random gun shots too.

Ah, I think this might be the key, I think there were some explosions around this time. Hard to avoid those when the riots are on tounge.gif
