I might have some tips

  1. Save - You can save after you complete some significant progress that you don't want to lose. For that you can visit the additional armouries that are present in SF and LV, the locations for which you can find in the map in the opening posts (the armouries are marked with yellow background arrows).

  2. Teleports - There are 'warps' present in each region of the map. They are usually modified enex markers (like clothes shops) which you can enter to warp to a different place. There are several useful of them that you can use as a quicker and easier way to reach different islands.

  3. Aircrafts - You can also use airplanes or helicopters to reach other places quickly if you know how to successfully dodge missiles shot at you by Hydras.

Any tips on how to do stuffs at SF and LV in the early parts of the game without getting killed by four star wanted level ?

Always have a plan. Which takes experience and practice, so your efforts won't be in vain in the long run.

I highly recommend practicing the Burgershot and Hippy Shopper Assets to learn how to manage the cops safely when driving a bike. The trick is to avoid doing what the cops do best; chase CJ driving straight a fast. So slow down and turn a lot. Work the shortcuts and edges of the map where the cops can't follow.

my tips for maneuvering safely in 4-star areas:

(while riding a motorcyle is the most enjoyable and [one of the]"safest" ways to traverse in 4-star areas. Another way to get there is to use the jet pack, (probably THE safest way to travel across restricted areas). But getting back you still need to use wheels usually, so I recommend contributing first to getting bike skill high enough so you have much less chance of falling off your bike. still, avoiding going all out fast; slow down and learn to maneuver around the many cop cars, police rangers and enforcers who will try to knock you off. (even maxed bike skill you can still be knocked off) When that happens make sure your bike is clear of cops so they don't have time to personally knock you off, and bust you. Killing a few cops won't increase your wanted level above 4  stars.  And, be sure you don't blow up their vehicles when close to your bike; being stranded without a bike is NO fun in a restricted zone. when attempting the courier missions, you must be very quick with the dropping off packages. timing is essential!  pressing Q or E to see the corona beside you and in one fluid motion, again fire  the package at the corona. this takes a bit of practice as well, but it is essential to completing Courier in a 4-star area. if you watch a video of someone doing these missions , it appears as if he didn't even press q or e, they are so very fast with the buttons. ServeteQuente is also a master of this. good luck with your 4-star fun! It is very rewarding when you learn to traverse [relatively] safely in restricted areas!

You should also pick up armor before going to Las Venturas early. Something I like to do for the Burgershot asset with 4 stars is drive the moped on the sidewalk only, that way I avoid the police cars, and hitting the pedestrians keeps my speed consistent enough to not spin out. Plus it's kind of funny. Hitting them over and over will not increase your wanted level beyond 4 stars either.

Is the armory at Bayside still in the save? I can't seem to find it anymore

The Bayside Armory is weird. It's entrance tends to get deleted when the game first starts. Restarting the game might bring it back. This issue can be prevented by removing the "temporary burglary" flag from your data files. I'll dig up my notes if you are interested, but most CG players prefer to have default data files.

Hmm, what would I need to do to get a personal vehicle in the save, if that's possible? 😛

Learn to write code. I'll help. I'm just totally unmotivated to work on this myself.

Better get permission from JAJ too.

Mahdi04 - Please disable 2DFX. This mod is prohibited in Chain Game play as it messes up the object groups for versions used by other players.

So my save file after him won't count?

I didn't encounter any problem with the save file, so it's better to him to disable it now.

The missing flags aren't a severe enough glitch that I feel a need to call a reset this late. As it is, v2 players will find a giant hole into gray hell at the YKBB factory in Doherty, but few people ever notice this anyway. If someone uses the SWAT at LSPD to break the smash wall at the East LS Crack Palace before End of the Line then v2 players won't have access to the interior or hidden vehicle - I haven't noticed anyone doing this either.

However, I'd certainly support a decision to revert if that's what the CG players prefer.

I suggest that CG players use the Enabled IPLs popup available on GTASnP to check the flags for new players. I usually check this several times per round but frequently fail to catch new players right away. We had a similar problem in the previous round and notified the player via PM. If the Carter object (floor behind smash wall) is missing then 2DFX is most likely to blame. (If the barriers are up for either version then someone probably used the convert IPL option on SnP.)

It was probably a Moderator who merged the two posts, for the sake of organization. ;)

I don't know if this was a mistake or you took another turn, but 4 hours hadn't passed since your previous one, so it's invalid.

Come on

4 hrs did pass

I posted exactly 2 minutes after 4 hours

Just check da time

I did check da time. The time reset starts counting when you finish your turn, not when you call it. You took the turn only a little less than 3 hours after you had finished your previous one, which means it's not valid

If that's the case then see my previous consecutive turns on page 1 and 2

I counted 4 hours from the time of posting.that would make half my turns

 invalid

For eg.I start a turn at 2.00 pm and finish it at 2.15 pm.After 3 hours I remember that I forgot a detail and re edit the save at 5.15 pm.So will it take the next turn at 9.15 pm or the original

6.15 pm

That's why you have to specify the "Original Edit Time" when you edit a post to add a detail that you forgot.

Quote

Late Edit: If you have previously completed a Chain Game Turn and wish to include additional information about your turn at a later time, you will need to specify when your turn was originally completed to prevent the turn being marked as invalid.

A REASON to my example

Yes..u r right Parik

But then my first point....half my turns are invalid then...We will have to go Back To Los Santos again to continue

If you've done that a lot before it should've been noticed way earlier, then the progress could've been reverted without much damage.

But since everyone failed to do so, I don't think wasting half of the percentage we made so far is really necessary. We'll see what the staff will do and if they will do.

No. not really

I considered the calling time not do completing time

With all the buffs and add-ons the chain game is a lot different to how SA is 'supposed' to be.

Would there be support for a pure 'vanilla' version of the chain game?

This is actually something I've seen a couple of people suggest as well, and I'm all up for it too. Sure the mods are cool and all, but it would be good to experience the Chain Game from a clean unmodded savefile, even if it's just a single round.

So barriers for one version (with restrictions on certain missions), and a giant hole at the YKBB site for the other?

I suspect the main barrier to a vanilla round is that we don't have starting posts appropriate for the round.

Round 146 has slowed down a lot, can we all join in and complete it fast before the end of 2019 and honor it as the last chain game of the decade ? :)
