Thanks for pointing this out, I took care of it with a couple PM's. Aitäh / Tänud! (hopefully one or both translates to Eastonian as "Thanks!")

And Thanks for playing!

You were correct about the translation and I'm flattered, but you had an additional A in Estonia.

Saved at the safe house near Madd Dogg's, not at Madd Dogg's

Go ahead and save at The Crib if you want. The disk was moved down the hall a little so it's farther from the basketball, so you won't glitch the save.

BTW, the SilentPatch will also place this disk in the same location on a new save, but I don't think it will move it on existing saves. However, SnP will move the disk for you if you don't stop it by disabling the automatic modifications.

With all the new changes regarding script versions, it is safe to use a completely stock Steam version to play the Chain Game?

Do I really need a downgrade?

EDIT: What about the Vigilante glitch in the Steam version?

Downgrade? No. I would expect stock Steam to work just fine. If the previous player was using v1 scripts you might need to use SnP's modifications tool to convert it back to v2 for you. I've read reports that some players can't get Steam SA to work properly on their computers without the SilentPatch, but that's a different issue.

Also, SnP should make sure your EXE version is v2. but that's set by default.

Yes, I just set the scripts to v2, and everything worked correctly.

well i have few ideas:

--Ability to do odd jobs in locked areas

--Making CG more tough (by modding things like some enemies aiming with hitman accuracy etc.)

--Eliminating the hunter and rhino for vigilante purpose

--Increasing garage space to 6 or 7 maybe to collect all vehicles include the EC/EC2 ones that require mission failure

--20 levels for each odd jobs

--Tougher Ammu-Nation Shooting Range

--Freight Mission unlocked from the beginning

--inability to save after getting busted/wasted

--unlocking all airplanes at airports from the beginning

--custom save points in all cities including Desert and Countryside at the very beginning of the game

--changing or adding new collectibles

--changing the race track

--reducing taxi fares,i did 45 previously and all of a sudden my pc rebooted itself, what the ****?? I almost took out a blade to kill myself

--et cetera,et cetera

why does failing races even count as a mission attempt

and ultimately: (but next to impossible)

creating a new main.scm and script.img

post if you like even 1 of my ideas

I don't have any plans for updating the custom save, but it's still fun to talk about.

--Ability to do odd jobs in locked areas: What can't be done usually has script limitations, but quite a few are available. What's missing?

--Making CG more tough: Less armor maybe? The 4-star gang wars are pretty tough.

--Eliminating the hunter and rhino for vigilante purpose: I recommend the BP/FP SWAT seeded at the airstrip. The BP FBI Truck is really easy.
--Increasing garage space to 6 or 7 maybe to collect all vehicles include the EC/EC2 ones that require mission failure: Can't happen without major modding.
--20 levels for each odd jobs: Requires script modifications.
--Tougher Ammu-Nation Shooting Range: How to make CJ high for the duration of the challenge?
--Freight Mission unlocked from the beginning: I think it is but can't be completed until the cities are unlocked. And unlocking cities early causes game breaking issues
--inability to save after getting busted/wasted: We tried this by moving the restart positions inside of solid objects but the girlfriend bonuses would bypass the traps. Also, this ruins the save for independent play and testing certain exploits.
--unlocking all airplanes at airports from the beginning: Done
--custom save points in all cities including Desert and Countryside at the very beginning of the game: Done, look for the Armories marked on the map.
--changing or adding new collectibles: Great for special rounds, but we need to clear the existing collectibles to make room for the special collection.
--changing the race track: Script mods have been against the CG policies.
--reducing taxi fares: probably a script modification (save more often)
--et cetera,et cetera: Done

why does failing races even count as a mission attempt: This stat is screwy all around. Don't let it bother you much; just don't be wasteful.

and ultimately: (but next to impossible) creating a new main.scm and script.img: Easy to do, hard to do properly. It's difficult enough to get people to play with a modified save and manage the script versions through SnP. IMO, requiring custom scripts to be installed would be too exclusive.

The IPL flags are used by the game to turn on or off large groups of objects - whole neighborhoods, usually. It's how San Andreas was able to avoid the load screens between island used in Vice City and III, the previous games built on the GTA3 engine. Some of these flags control object groups that get turned on or off during the game. The barriers to SF and LV are the most obvious and have the biggest impact on the Chain Game. The other flags control Truth's Crops, the crack factory in SF before it's destroyed during YKBB, and the floor behind the smash wall at Smoke's palace in End of the Line.

This is important to the Chain Game because v1 and v2 use different flags to mark the objects - sometimes sharing the same flag to control different objects. Some of the odd rules from the Chain Game are to manage all of these flags for players of either version. For normal saves, or older CG saves, players from one version or the other would need to complete the map changing missions, Green Sabre, Are You Going, and YKBB.

The current CG save doesn't have any barriers, and the other flags have been set so the IPL version should not matter, so as long as nobody "converts" the IPL flags with SnP it doesn't make a difference who completes any mission.

Finally, the IPL flags are dependent on GTA3.IMG, a multi-gig data archive. As far as I know this file is never included in "downgrade" mods. A v2/Steam player can downgrade their exe so they can use mods, and downgrade their scripts to be compatible with older saves, but nobody downgrades their IPL version.

me

Mission: Robbing Uncle Sam
Called by: yuvraj
Link: Ryder sucks
Status: Completed
Completion %: 28.34%
Notes: Moved the Tow Truck from Ganton to Santa Maria (closest to cemetery for collecting AP Admiral for next mission),moved NE NRG 500 to Ganton

well i could have saved myself a lot of hassle if i had remembered that mission related special vehicles cant be towed

There's an armory hidden within the Sherman Dam. Enter yellow mark at the top.

CG for Mobile has been suggested but there doesn't appear to be a critical mass of players needed to keep the game going. However, no one has tried it. Might work.

Barriers can be an issue if, for example, a v2 player completes Green Sabre when we have v1 barriers in place. V2 can't drop the v1 barriers so they will block some players from driving across the bridges between SF and LS.

zoombotrom Because every time I've mentioned it was because there was little or no armor in the save. Literally I took 3 steps once to get armor because there was almost none left. So that's why. JAJ even had to mention it once.

when will be the next date for updating the CG Hall Of Fame

now no more stats are uploaded as well at the end like old rounds

looks like the CG officers are very very lazy or very very busy

i have another idea

why not exempt "Wear flowers in your hair" and "photo oppurtunity" from named mission list as these are just some sucking missions which require only driving around and no action

Because that's not the point, currently 'Lame missions' are the ones where you walk in a mission marker and mission passed. In the ones you listed you still have to do things.

That's just your opinion, but there are things to do. Those three are the only ones without any real objectives, your list has objectives. There are probably many similar missions to what you listed. For example, Don Peyote is basically the same thing: pick up Paul & Maccer, drive them here and then here.

Making an exception for these missions makes the rule more complicated than it needs to be.

The post you mention is by 'someone' other than a chain game officer. That 'someone' promised to keep it up to date.

If you have any ideas on how a player can update a post that is not his post I'm willing to listen. Otherwise 'very very lazy' and 'very very busy' does not apply yet. Now you know the rest of the story.

Thanks for your comment.

but in Don peyote,at least there is some action i.e.killing the snake farm guys

or maybe not exempt them but create put trip skips for these missions in the save

maybe JAJ u can give me the responsibility for uploading stats at end of each round

i just wanna know one thing:

mike toreno has such a big ranch with music players, huge speakers, computer and what not but he is still not scared of these items getting stolen and does not have a door on his ranch

even i think photo oppurtunity should be excluded............As far as i know verdant meadows is only technically passed when we purchase the airstrip not only the cutscene.......this is very similar to task in photo oppurtunity

Read the rules and guidelines again, you did not wait the amount of time before calling another turn.

It was only 1 hr 22 min after the other player completed his turn. And there was only 1 turn taken before you called another turn.

Wait until 2 other turns have been completed before calling another mission.

If 4 hours pass without another gamer completing a turn, then the '4 hour mission rule' is reset & anyone may call a turn.
