Adding (not replacing) cars to GTA SA

Sorry for bugs in the new script. I have not found out them that day confused.gif

For normal work of script delete all lines which containing :

Model.Destroy([email protected])

077E: get_active_interior_to [email protected]

0840: link_car [email protected] to_interior [email protected]

and

Car.RemoveReferences([email protected])

But don't delete line

01EB: set_traffic_density_multiplier_to 1.0 !

It corrects problems with the traffic

Or use the first script which I have written on May, 5th, and add in the end this line. Problems with the traffic will be gone

i still have problems... when i am too fast with some added cars the game crashes... sometimes with some cars it crashes when i brake, also with lowspeed... strange... handlingadder is very buggy sad.gif... but with 300 added cars its impossible to use exsisting handlings... they dont fit... suspension is important, i dont wanna cars which are too low or too high

Yes ... it seems that the more cars you add, the more problems you get with those strange freezings. As you say, sometimes it happens with low speed or when your car scratches some guardrails or simply hits the ground ... what to do? ...

@50Ctac: Thank you for helping, but your script is not working as it should: The cars only appear in correct location when I'm close to them and then spawn them. But nevermind!

Ok, I did exactly what there stood on page 1. About how to add vehicles, but the problem is, now.. when i spawn the car with jacobs car spawner, then I can't see my car... Why?

And could, someone tell me what that line means (from first page)

2: Then you open up the SAlimits configuration file, scroll down to the vehicle models number line and up it by 1. Save and close.

This is probally a very old Topic but I've been having problems with this VehicleAudioEditorUltimate working for other vehicle IDs. So far it only worked for "612" "613" "614" that's all, the rest they would have bike horns and no sound at all. Yes I've replaced all commas with periods in the VehicleAudioEditorUltimate. All cars work with sound. But the rest of the new car IDs I add on "699" and "399" and etc..; they wont have sound at all. Is there a limitation on this editor for only IDs "612" "613" "614"? I would really like to fix this issue. confused.gif

Thanks alot~

well I've passed a lot of nights too trying to have the sound of all my added cars.

It now works fine since a month, I've got sound for *every* added car or bike. And there was some!

note I've haven't added new sounds or new handlings. All added vehicle was using a original handling and sound from the game.

The only thing I've permitted me was to swap the ROLLER handling for a side-car bike. Except that, my handling.cfg is original.

Every time I've tried to modify this last one has led to crash ingame.

I admit that is less funny. But all added cars has sound, even if it's stock ones. But it was useful cause I've used scripts to make appear new cars here and there in Las Venturas, very pleasant when free driving around, and I could quit the current vehicle I drove for a new one with sound.

Then, you must use original description in your "vehicles.ide" like here, my added car Volkswagen Saveiro used handling and sound of Bobcat:

...

15065, vwsaveiro, vwsaveiro, car, BOBCAT, VWSAVEIRO, null, normal, 1, 0, 0, -1, 0.89, 0.89, -1

...

Well, here's how is written my "VehicleAudioData.ini"

Note I've used empty slots from empty ranges 612, 613, 614, 699, 15065-15999 and 18631-18999 (not all of course, but a lot smile.gif

Well I must admit I've finished with a big "VehicleAudioData.ini" of 268ko... but all cars have sound.

I've written a VB script to accomplish this boring work of editing the file.

however, I don't think it'd relevant to post it considering you've perhaps used some different IDs that I did, considering also that you must choose and copy/paste each car sound you want for each car you add, then yours aren't mines. but if you need...

To finish, I thank a lot Alexandder, Sacky, others I forget, all of you damn good reversers who have made possible to us a so incredible modding which allowing us to add cars, change maps, create scripts, use extra video-memory, peds, weapons and so on!

I've enjoyed a damn good july month playing GTA SA embedding it with all your damn good tools!

then, if this little description of a big "VehicleAudioData.ini" can help...

Didnt work. I did the Salimit vehicle up, all handling requirements, vehicle id edited, and rebuilt the archive after txd/dff.

tried the gxt edit, and there was no button for entry add, crap program.

game crashed after i started the new game option angry.gif .

placed that dll file in root, and it told me that i need direct x9 to even start the game, /Fail.

this mod looks like it would work, but it doesnt. at least not for me.

Cool idea.

hi!

As I read, there's a lot of bugs here.

I think I've changed everything right, but my game crashes:

1 - salimits.ini: #Vehicle Models=212 + 1 > #Vehicle Models=213

2 - handling.cfg > name of car, upper case, with all handl data, e.g. "SAVEIRO";

BRAVURA ....SAVEIRO 980.0 2200.0 ..........BUFFALO...

3 - carcols, cargrp > name of car, lower case, with color combinations

savanna, ...saveiro, 0,0, 1,1seaspar, ...

4 - vehicles.ide > same, with sound of PICADOR, for example;

612,  saveiro,	saveiro,	car,  	PICADOR,  saveiro,  null,	normal,  4,  0,	0,  1, 0.76, 0.76,  0

5 - added dff/txd files at gta3.img, named "saveiro.dff/txd", rebuilt file;

6 - gta_sa.exe runs, and when I load or create new game, it crashes.

My saloader.ini:

# SA Loader# Filename: saloader.ini# Made By: Sacky# Insert the DLL names/paths to execute hereF:\Rockstar Games\GTA SA\GTA San Andreas\HandlingAdder.asiF:\Rockstar Games\GTA SA\GTA San Andreas\MoreVehicles.asiF:\Rockstar Games\GTA SA\GTA San Andreas\vorbisHooked.dllF:\Rockstar Games\GTA SA\GTA San Andreas\vorbisFile.dllF:\Rockstar Games\GTA SA\GTA San Andreas\d3d9.dllF:\Rockstar Games\GTA SA\GTA San Andreas\salimits.ini

Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

Help! Can't find "hot key" file. DL and extracted all tools but can't find the hot key file in the main dir

confused.gif I don't know if you already have found a solution to your problem of not finding your hotkey file, but you should get this file with the Car spawner. The car spawner needs to be injected into the game to use the hotkeys.

Maybe somebody having a similar problem will find it useful after two yrs lol. moto_whistle.gif

Can somebody help me? sad.gif

I did everything as per the tutorial and tried to add a Lamborghini to id 18631.

But as i tried to spawn the vehicles the game crashed.I can spawn all other cars using the jacob's car spawner.

When i added to id 612,the car just stuttered when i spawned it and then disappeared.Repeated attempts, and there is not one car in the game moving around, only the ones standing at one place.

I have no mods installed.

What do I do?

Any help is appreciated. smile.gif

How to add compleatly new vehicles to GTA San Andreas.

Tools needed

Sacky's Limit adjuster (http://www.aschratt.com/fileview.php?file=1006)

Alexander_Blades Handling adder plugin (http://alexander.sannybuilder.com/Files/SAHandlingAdderUltimate.rar)

Alexander_Blades Car adder plugin (http://alexander.sannybuilder.com/Files/SAMoreVehicles.rar)

ASI loader mirror by Alexander_Blade, Tool by Delfi (http://alexander.sannybuilder.com/Files/ASILoader.rar)

And you will need Jacobs car spawner for san andreas, link coming soon.

Lets begin shall we?

Remember to consult the free ID list to find free car id's

1: First unpack all the RAR's in you're San andreas directory

2: Then you open up the SAlimits configuration file, scroll down to the vehicle models number line and up it by 1. Save and close.

3. Open up the handling names file and add you're new vehicles name in capitols, remember the name and what vehicle name above it is exactly. Also remember to stay in the group of vehicles you vehicle belongs in planes, boats etc. Save and close.

4. Open up the Vehicle. IDE file and add you're new IDE line from you're car mod readme at the end of the list. Instead of the name of the car you would replace, use you're new name. Save and close.

5. Now open up the handling config file in you're data folder. Find the name of the vehicle above you're new vehicle and add you're new handling line under it. Save and close.

6. Open up you're carcol file in the data folder. Add you're new vehicle name in alphabeticly and you're new line. Save and close.

7. (optional) Open up you're cargrp file in the data folder and add you're new car in a couple of the groups, this will spawn the car randomly.

8. Open up your hot key file in the main directory and create a hot key with you're new car id's number. Save and close.

9. Fire up the imgtool and add you're new diff/txd as per normal. Rename it your newcar txd. and diff. and rebuild you're acrchive. Remember its case sensitive.

On a side note, please tell me how many cars you have added without noticible gameplay differances. Anything from random crashes to textures not loading. As soon as Sacky ups the streaming memory we will be able to add cars to our hearts content.

On another side note I am still working on the sound bug with Alexander_Blades sound adder plugin. Another update shortly.

Fire up GTA SA and spawn you're new car.

Special thanks to Alexander_Blade, Sacky, wenhan1000, Grove Street Boy, Gunnie and delfi for their excellent tools and help.

Any problems post here or PM me.

Optional step by Grove Street Boy to have you're new car's name appear ingame

1. use GXT Editor to open american.gxt

2. Remember the name you have used in your Handling.cfg when you were adding this vehicle

for example the one i used was LANCER.

3. Find the table MAIN in ur american.gxt

4. add a new entry in MAIN from the button Entry -> add

5. name your entry according to the name you used in handling.cfg, mine is once again LANCER

6. You will then see Entry Name followed by Value, which is empty.

7. Enter the name of your vehicle into the Value area. e.g. Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6

8. Done, fire up SA and go crazy!

Or you can use Gunnies method with the GXT.hook

How to add the name of the cars using Cleo3's GtxHook

This is a great method for add lines to the game without edit any Gtx file. Sometimes, edit that files can generate crash in the game.

1. Install Cleo3 mod, you can download it here: http://cleo.sannybuilder.com (http://cleo.sannybuilder.com)

2. Copy and paste all the files in your SA main directory.

3. Go to GTA SA\CLEO\plugins\gxthook

4. Copy the file GtxHook.cleo and paste it in GTA SA\CLEO directory (two levels back)

5. Go to GTA SA\CLEO\cleo_text and create a new file with .fxt extension, with the name you like (I used Added_cars.fxt).

6. Open it with Notebook or some text editor and now, you can add your custom names easily, with that format:

CODENAME <space> NAME

Example

KURUMA Kuruma GTA III

The max. number of characters in the codename is 7. You can add all names you want putting another line, example:

KURUMA Kuruma GTA III

SENTXS Sentinel XS VC

INFERTWO Infernus 2001

LANDTWO Landstalker GTA III

Enjoy your added car!

It's a lot easier if you re-use the handling of other cars rather than using handling adder.

Awesome tutorial! biggrin.gif

It works fine

until I add more cars to carcols.dat. I added the Idaho and another Infernus and it worked ok but adding more cars makes it crash. I tryed removing cars in the game that have "1.1" only, but when I add for example "sierra, 0,1, 3,1" it crashes at loading bar. dontgetit.gif

Anyone know why this happens?

EDIT: Solved: I was using wrong numbers at vehicles ide. For example I used "615" which was wrong and I should use for example "999" or other specific numbers that are supported (listed in the readme of "morecars asi")

Ok, I added a car, and so far, everything works great. smile.gif

I'm wondering how many cars people have managed to add without issues. Also, I can't figure out how to add sound. I wouldn't mind using an already existing sound, I just don't know how.

It also only works if I use an existing handling. When I try to use my own, the car spawns halfway into the ground. I would like to be able to use my own though, so that I can add new cars and put the originals back in the game.

Correction for tutorial

Don`t use SA Limit Adjuster. It`s uneccesary as alone More Vehicles by Alexander Blade already increases limit of possible vehicles in game up to 1000

SA Limit Adjuster often crashes game, because this addon was built for adjusting many limits and unfortunately has many errors too.

So use More vehicles plugin or SA Limit Adjuster to adjusting vehicle limits. Twice addons aren`t neccesary, I tested it.

Don`t put lines in handling.cfg. Even, if you put line to this file with special handling, it won`t work. Why? Because GTA SA loads from handling.cfg only these entries, that are listed in gta_sa.exe file. You can watch it in Hex editor editing gta_sa.exe and go to offset 0x4d1580

Handling Adder really adds new handling, but default of infernus unfortunately sad.gif

Last question. Why nobody tried to create tool for SA, that add in memory new entries to load them in GTA SA? It would be nice, because tool of Alexander force adding handling to ID, but doesn`t add name of car in handling.cfg to load.

//Edit:

Don`t use Handling Adder! Just put your new handling lines IN THE BOTTOM of handling.cfg. Not default handling lines must be put as last and it will works fine! Tested it.
