My old desktop packed in so we got a new one... it was the graphics card. I want to get files from the hard disk onto my laptop. How can I do this? Can I wire it up to my laptop with any sort of cables or anything?

Thanks.

External HDD Caddies are the only way to do it, unless you've got an old Graphics Card kicking about to bung in your old computer so you can start it up and transfer files over a local network.

Good list of Cheap External HDD Caddies here

You can't exactly plug a lead in the HDD and take that lead and plug it into your USB port, the HDD will need power after all.
