Attorney General

Alright gentlemen. I suppose it's been awhile since we've had a trivia topic around here. I know, I know...these types of topics often become spam-central. So lets try to be civil...and of course refrain from using the search engines.

OK, back to business...ask any sports related question. From cricket to hockey, from football to boxing...any sport, any era...the more challenging the better.

A few quick ground rules...

•Googling answers is strictly prohibited. Violators will be prosecuted to the full extent of the GTAF law. Tank is your judge, jury and executioner. And word is...he can be adjudicating.  nervous.gif

•Wait for the poster of the question to confirm your answer unless you are 1000% sure of it's validity. If you're certain that you're correct...fire away.

•If the poster of the question doesn't respond within a reasonable amount of time...it's an open mic...feel free to ask another question.

•If a question isn't answered correctly, or at all, within a day of so of it being asked...it's an open question.

OK...here we go...there is only one man in the history of boxing to hold one WORLD title in each of the three different weight classes he campaigned in. He held these titles concurrently. Who is this man?

Alright gentlemen. I suppose it's been awhile since we've had a trivia topic around here. I know, I know...these types of topics often become spam-central. I'm well aware that papanesta had to shut down a few similar topics in the TV/Movie forum due to spam and cheating. So lets be civil...and refrain from using the search engines.

But, back to business...ask any sports related question. From cricket to hockey, from football to boxing...any sport, any era...the more challenging the better.

A few quick ground rules...

•Googling answers is strictly prohibited. Violators will be prosecuted to the full extent of the GTAF law. Tank is your judge, jury and executioner. Word on the street is...he certainly can be adjudicating.

•Wait for the poster of the question to confirm your answer unless you are 1000% sure of it's validity. If you're certain that you're correct...fire away.

•If the poster of the question doesn't respond within 24 hours of his post...it's an open mic...feel free to ask another question.

•If a question isn't answered correctly, or at all, within 24 hours of it being asked...it's an open mic...next question.

Wow, this takes me back to my quizzing days in school. I'm not very sure, but I think the guy's last name was Armstrong. Gotta Google for anything more. sigh.gif

I think the guy's last name was Armstrong.

You, my smug friend, are correct.

It was Henry Armstrong who held the featherwieght(126 lbs), lightweight(135 lbs) and welterweight(147 lbs) belts concurrently. He would've held the middleweight belt along with the other three if it weren't for a dubious decision against Ceferino Garcia. This is an unparalleled feat in the sport...and it'll certainly never be equaled in this day and age.

Ok so maybe the no google rule should be skipped. WHO WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT!!!!

Come on, next question and make it easy, and PM me the answer first.

Alright Waddy...I suppose that one was tough. But we can't cave in that quick with the google rule. You Footy regulars should get this one easy...

Who led the FA Premier League in goals scored for the 2002/2003 season?

Oh, do I have the next question? Cool.

I'll keep it simple for now.

Who is considered one of the greatest third basemen in Major League Baseball history? He was elected into the hall of fame in 1999 and played for the Kansas City Royals

That would be George Brett.

Do I wait until he tells me whether or not the answer is correct? Or do I simply ask my question now? In either case, I'll let somebody else ask a question as I cannot think of a good question right now.

Well, yeah. It's correct.

By the way, since you're not aloud to google the question, can Wikipedia be used?

What do you think?. If Google isn't allowed due to cheating isn't Wikipedia going to give you the same advantage.

Yeah, I realised that, I was just making sure because he was specifically outlining Google.

Anyway, no takers, eh? How 'bout a tip:

He has previously played for PSV Eindhoven.

Attorney General

I'll have a stab at Alan Gordon. Actually,  I'm fairly sure that's right. If correct, I'll pass on asking a question. I have to go out.

Is someone gonna keep scores?

My fault...busy week. They're now kept in the first post. smile.gif

Who is the all time leading goal scorer of the A-League?

I'll wait for confirmation from Stefan to award a point...as I don't know which A-League we're talking about...or if Alan Gordon is the leading scorer.

For now let's stick with TDP's question...

When Peyton Manning threw his 49th touchdown in a season to break Dan Marino record, who caught the touchdown and who were they playing against?

I'm pretty sure it was Stokely who caught it. Not sure who it was against...Jacksonville, maybe?

It was Stokley, but not Jacksonville.

Sorry I couldn't reply, like AG, I was busy. The answer is not Alan Gordon, but are we still on my question?

He plays for the Australian national team.

Sorry if we're not on my question. By the way, the A-League is the premier soccer/football league of Australia.

Sorry boys, time's up. I am curious though TDP, who did Peyton set the record against? Miami?

New question. In the 2005/06 Champions League Final, Barcelona beat Arsenal 2-1 in a hell of a game...who scored the one goal for Arsenal?
