nabo45
I would say PC because you can always upgrade it to something better when your specs get old, and you can't do that on consoles. Also more games get released for PC which i think is a plus here, because you want a gaming PC. Also this is the wrong forum, the topic should be in PC Disc... Hollaz
I would vote for PC. PC is better, you can make much more things with it, and you don't have to pay much money to get games. And there is no internet like this on a Xbox 360 or a Wii.
sainraja
My personal recommendation would be the Playstation 3 but you have to look at its line up and the games currently available on it like Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Resistance and Motorstorm. If they are your thing, get it. If you like platformers, Ratchet and Clank is coming out soon, end of this month. After that you have Assassins Creed, Kane and Lynch and Uncharted and a couple others to look forward to....
E.A.B.
I would say PC because you can always upgrade it to something better when your specs get old, and you can't do that on consoles. Also more games get released for PC which i think is a plus here, because you want a gaming PC. Also this is the wrong forum, the topic should be in PC Disc... A PC's fine, if you enjoy FPS Heaven and having to upgrade every 2 months and tedious installation PC SUCKS BLAH BLAH and that is exactly what's going to happen with this topic. I still don't understand why people make topics along the lines of "I got 600 dollars, waste them for me". what? It'll just dissolve into people trying to convince you that their investment was a good one and you'll do good in doing it also. They liked it? So why don't you? You are, afterall, the same person with same tastes. You might as well say "What console did you buy and spout off reasons as to why it didn't suck" (yes, I know not everyones a dick saying stuff like "fabulous more games coming soon" making themselves sound like an ad and not everyone will force you to buy the console they bought) That being said, I would suggest you look into each console. If you've never even bought one and always stuck with PC and are content, well, get more of the same. From what I see from the Wii, it's strong points are it's multiplayer, but don't let people stoop you into thinking it's ONLY multiplayer LOL KIDDY I NEED TA SHOOT A NIGGA The 360, this might sound biased and I really don't favor any console, but from what I've seen, it's got a, more or less, solid library. Or at least, more solid than the other consoles for now (been out longer, duh) but careful about that faulty product. It has quite a good amount of shooters if you're into that. I honestly can't make any good arguments for the PS3 besides MGS4 and Final Fantasy.
Uno Carb
Have people seriously lost the ability to f*cking think for themselves? These "omg wat2bye" threads are getting pathetic. Read up on the f*cking specs and games yourself, hardware and make your own f*cking decision.
james_root
if you buy ps3 or x360 you 'll need a HD tv so if you buy one or afford one and if you like playing games on console buy ps3 or x360.
cold fusion 33
People just want a little more advice on what they are gonna buy like if the thing they are gonna buy is going to break quickly or get out of date fast. Back to the question, I would say PC as you can play games and/or on Internet easier (VCMP and SAMP comes to mind) you can use normal PC applications and it has a lot of memory. Yes I would say high spec PC
just another thug
Personally, I would get the 360. But, it really depends on what you want out of it.
EasyAs
I'm an Xbox 360 supporter, but I do know some bullet points I will list. I will try to do all four systems justice. PC: IMO, the tide of games is slowing and only a few big hitters are coming, but if I'm wrong, someone please correct me. It requires a lot of time and money, and will be out of date soon, but it does do well for community games, like Counter Strike and Wow, which mostly have a lot of user created content. Sadly, pc performance differs greatly, so things like player made maps and such can be disastrous. High maintainance but good pay off. Wii: Do not care for it. The Wiimote and Nunchaku have huge potential being wasted on silly party games. I know some are into fun little Mario games, but if your not one of them, Wii is not for you. A good console for the right audiance, but seriously held back. (Come on... Dark Messiah on Wii!) PS3: Another I'm not impressed with, but I'll be fair. I like the fact you can surf the net, and the Blu-ray is impressive, but I don't believe Sony are doing the right thing under the hood. They seem to think that going bigger is better. A lot of processors may sound impressive, but really its a mess to design for. Massive disc space on a Blu-ray is a definite plus, but I can't see many times when it will be needed. A HD-DVD will handle most games today. It has a pretty bad library right now but it is improving with some decent games. One for serious gamers who don't mind waiting for it to actually get good. XB360: For the casual and serious gamer. Just as much power as the PS3, but its a dream to code for. Most multiplatform games are developed on the 360 and then ported to PS3 and PC. It is the game developers preferred system right now. Good library right now, but there are a lot of good games on the way. Within a year, the 360 will have a ground shaking selection. I know some are not too happy of paying to use its online service, but it really is not expensive and its near flawless. Everything about it (XB360) is stream lined, easy to use, has great hardware and a very good future. I recommend it. Though it is only fair to mention that it is known for overheating. Google 'red ring of death' and you will see what I mean. If you decide to buy one, be prepared for the possibility of having to get it repaired, and for GODS SAKE get a hard drive and a warranty. Starion
Being honest, your gonna need a PC to live in this world. Theres a lot more to do than any other, but I would try to get a medium specced PC that can run a few games like GRAW, and a cheap 360. mod it with Nitrous Oxide and chassis dyno. tommy vs. claude
PC. The games may come out later than the consoles but they are way better and you get mods . The reason PC gamers are cooler than the console gamers.
TheDude5000
Whatever you do, don't get a Wii or PS3. If you're one who has a solid gaming PC(well at least it once was) than thinking as a PC gamer you're into good hardcore gamers. Wii is full of casual crap and some of the worst shovelware. It's even getting the Big Rigs sequel. PS3 has nothing going for it until next year, and even then you don't know if those games will be good. Why waste $500 on sillyness like Motorstorm or Lair? Or are you gonna wait until 2008 to see if then maybe it has good games? EAB: Shooter stereotype, much? Wasn't it proven less than 30% of 360's titles are shooters anyway? For fighters, you have VF 5, and DOA 4. For racing, you have PGR 3, Forza 2, and PGR 4. For RPG's you have Blue Dragon, ES IV: Oblivion, Mass Effect 1, 2, 3 and more. For open world games, you have Saint's Row, Dead Rising, Crackdown, and a superior version of GTA IV. For horror/survival, you also have Dead Rising, Left 4 Dead, and Resident Evil 5. For shorter, classic games, you have the tons of things available on XB Live Arcade. For sports, you have superior versions of all EA sports games, Smackdown Vs. Raw 2007, and a superior version of Smackdown vs. Raw 2008. And yeah, for the cream of the crop of shooters, you have Call Of Duty 2, Gears Of War, Halo 3, and Bio-shock, which itself is a hybrid RPG at the same time. Only shooters? Give me a f*cking break with that 5 year old argument. 5 year old as in that's around the length of time it has been in use, and also what you sound like when you say it over, and over. manofpeace
Well, if Bioshock and all the GTAs are on PC, go ahead and get a PC. You can get a fairly good comp with a small amount of money nowadays. I remember spending almost 2k for a PC that now needs a series of upgrades back in 04. It's probably now worth $300. So, get a PC. At least there's common HD on them.
MMFF
If you want to go with PC, I would make sure GTA4 is announced for it. Better safe than sorry. As far as consoles go, Wii doesn't get GTA4, and comes up short on power. So really the ultimate question is, PS3 or 360? A better question is, game console or entertainment system? Personally, I like extras. They are well worth the money. PS3 may be more expensive, but with free online, that saves money. Plus Home is free, and Sony is planning to make their MMOs free. Look at your interests.

M. H. Hunter III
If you want to be like me, buy an Xbox 360. Hey hey I have a 360 can I be like you Of course you can be like him. of course thats a good thing.... anyways, out of the 3 consoles i believe that the 360 has the best multiplayer support and service out there. although admittedly you do have to pay for the gold service, but it's totally worth the $50-55 per year, if you like to play a lot online....although there is the free silver out there However, i am abit biased, as i haven't gotten the opportunity to try the ps3 or wii out to see a comparsion, so im strictly going from last generation comparison. as for pc, you just have to put up with a constant battle of upgrading, which i personally dislike to do, to much of a hassle to do when i am messed up. This is, more or less, what I was talking about "The 360 is a DREAM to code for ah man it rocks ass" "The PS3 , eh, not impressed horrible to code for meh whatever eh get it if you want meh it's alright I guess its sort of good" I'm not trying to insult you, and it's natural that you give the 360 more spotlight, seeing as how you bought it and everything, so in your eyes, it's the better of the three. But in the end, it's all opinion. It's even getting the Big Rigs sequel. oh man, seriously? Shooter stereotype, much? Wasn't it proven less than 30% of 360's titles are shooters anyway? Yeah yeah, big stereotype, I know. Kinda like how "The PS3 has no gaaaaymes". I'm just saying, I hear more shooters for the 360 and see more commercials on shooters for the 360 than any other console. superior version oh c'mon, you can at least try and sound somewhat less biased, it would give your opinions more ground. TheDude5000
superior version oh c'mon, you can at least try and sound somewhat less biased, it would give your opinions more ground. Better online thanks to Live, and exclusive DLC, and it's on a console that's considerably less expensive, and its the lead dev platform. Even R* said it's the "definitive" version of the game. How the hell is that not superior? And I'm sure PS3 has plenty of gaaaaaaaaaaames, the thing is all the exclusive ones are bleh, and all the multi-plats you can play on other, less pricey consoles, and it's a proven fact many of them have higher framerates and better exclusive features on those other consoles. That's pretty much all I have to say for in this topic. It's now another fanboy argument, because a certain someone had to spout out a dumb stereotype. Good luck with the chaos, I'm out. Funny, no one mentioned anything about that stereotype that a certain a hole said until...well, you're the first and only one that made a paragraph long post about it. and no ones flaming any console, no ones flaming the 360, stop throwing the word "fanboy" around cause it applies to you also, definitely to you. MMFF
all the exclusive ones are bleh, Speaking of dumb stereotypes. Every console has dumb stereotypes tacked to it, and they always get brought up. It's not just the 360 under attack.
Vincent Alfano
I'd say go for a new PC. It's flexible so when the time eventually comes you can just upgrade the graphics card/RAM/processor, which you can't really do to the games consoles'. I've gotten word that there's going to be a PC version released with the PS3/360 launch (don't hold me to that, but I trust it's correct) so that's gonna be pretty cool. Oh by the way, I recommend you install it with Windows XP, from what I've heard Vista is nothing but trouble.

Uno Carb was pretty much spot on. Too many people around these parts treat their gaming console as if it were their child, and retaliate with interest when it's insulted. You're much better off reading up on independent reviews than asking moody and stubborn teens. Decide which one appeals to you and go for it.
