Some of you guys know me already...others may not. Of course, I'm an enormous sports fan...from boxing to football and so on. So I'm just thrilled to have this opportunity. And...as I've always been a man of the people, I'd like to give all the regulars here in Sports Chat a chance to voice their opinions as to how we can improve our forum. If you guys have any suggestions...fire away. Any questions...direct them towards JoeyLeone25 and I. I wouldnt mind a sports youtube topic, like for great goals, maybe we could add highlights and stuff aswell. Gota be careful that everyone gets spread about, not all in the same topics. Also big congrats to your promotion. Well deserved I was looking at some of the older topics in this section, and there is a sports trivia, but it's been dead for a while. Also big congrats to your promotion. Well deserved I was looking at some of the older topics in this section, and there is a sports trivia, but it's been dead for a while. I think it'd be cool if that was bumped and got started again. i was gonna devise a sports trivia, similar to my beat the geek and simpsons trivia thread, but thought the answers would be easily answerable by google , so i decided not to. Basically there's one topic for each major sport, and all discussion about those sports must be contained to their own topic. How can you contain all discussion about football (the most popular sport in the world) to one topic?! I think The Footy Desk, NFL Discussion etc. should be there for minor discussion, for example when talking about the weekend's Premiership results. But when there's a big game on, or a huge incident during a game, or a surprising result, or a managerial change - that should get its own topic IMO. (I'm just using football as an example. ) Well the NFL Discussion has, in a lot of ways, become Fantasy Football discussion seeing as how the majority of regulars in that thread are in the fantasy league. I agree that there should be more dispersion of discussion topics. The Rotoworld forums (my favorite fantasy discussion board) create threads for each game for people to talk about them as they're going on, and after the weekend those topics disappear. However, I have really no idea how many topics this section can support since we are a niche group. You tend to see the same people over and over in here. I'm split on the idea of making more topics. Alright, so the consensus is that we feel a little cluttered around here...fantasy football talk in the NFL Discussion and so on. The thing is...I'm not sure if having a ton of topics in here will slow the server. I suppose for now we can just roll with it. If things seem to be getting a bit messy...I'll take care of it. Waddy, I've pinned darthYenik's Greatest Plays in Sports for now. As soon as I get a chance...I'll have a Great Goals topic up and running...no more than a few days. Little less congestion in the other topic...and it should be perfect for the Footy regulars. AndySerb and TDP, give me a couple of days. I'll have a brand spanking new Trivia Topic that I think you guys will like. Should keep us busy in between games. adamcs and 40, I see no problems in expanding the amount of topics. I like the idea. But again, you start to talk about specs on a cpu or strain on a server and I'm like . So adam, if things go sour...just give me a heads up and I'll do some housekeeping. Should keep us busy in between games. maybe this one for the greatest goals ,could tranfsorm it or upgrade it however you want i'm liking the sound of this, a sports trivia, i always try to do things like this but decided not to because thought maybe would be to easy to google, but hope it kicks off . However, with that said, I'm a Moderator at one of the largest Football Clips forums on the net and they haven't had much trouble over the last six or so months. The thing about that is it's not hosted on this site. Just linked to. It's up to youtube (or wherever) to moderate their content. Though they don't usually take action, unless they get threatened by the company they are infringing. And even then it wouldn't effect this forum, or it's administration.
