San Andreas Nut
When I go to Nero Startsmart to make a 'DVD Video' I go add video files, .avi's. All the videos are only 3.33gb alltogether. so they should all fit on my standard DVD, but when I add them for some reason its 18.5gb?? wtf. so nero has added more data out of nowhere? plz help. SIP YEK NOD
DVD videos have to be encoded in MPEG 2 format for a DVD player to be able to read them. only about 2 hours of video can fit on a standard DVD at decent quality. the videos you are trying to add are likely compressed into divx or something similar, and to create a DVD video out of them, nero would have to convert them into MPEG 2, which takes up a lot more space than divx. Otter
Just burn them to a Data DVD. Many dvd players can play a variety of Mpeg compression, and a large portion of newer DVD players can play properly encoded DivX, Wmv and Xvid without a hitch. It'll come up with a selection screen, same as if you played an .mp3 or .jpeg CD ROM or DVD ROM. And if it doesn't play them, you can pick up a DivX player for something like $40 these days. Additionally, be sure to set your DVD player to play in progressive mode, if it isn't already. This will ensure proper syncing and highest quality playback. Otter
Yeah, no worries. When I first found out the DVD players can play video files, I went on a wild porno legally downloaded entertainment bender!
