Saget
Hello everyone. My birthday is coming, so I want to ask you, as gamers, what is the best store in the United States to buy a Wii. I want one since it wasn't even released x( It's a lot more expensive to buy one here in Brazil, you know, since they want us to pay 5 times the price in dollars. I mean, you can find some a bit cheaper than that, but it's still better to buy one in the US and have it sent here. One more thing: Will an american Wii work here? I suppose it will, but you never know... |DeviantArt|Flickr|YouTube|#amf|

Vin.
I'm not too sure about prices in USA (being from Australia) but in regards to your question, "Will the USA Wii work in Brazil" yes, it will. It will work wherever you get one. You'll just need an American adapter (if you use different power points in Brazil). If you were to get a Wii from Europe your games would most likely not work as they're NTSC instead of PAL, or the other way around, I forget. But yes, Wii's are a good family console (if that's what you're looking for). If you were looking for a mainly Solo based gaming experience, then you'd be better off going for a 360 or PS3. Just a little bit of info for you.
Oblivionz
I'm not a big fan of the Wii since it's only fun if you're with a few friends, or with your family. I was playing it the other day with my cousin, and it was really boring when he went upstairs, and I was left downstairs playing Red Steel, and Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam all by myself. But yeah, the Wii should work in Brazil if you have an American adapter, I think.

Just a little bit of info for you. Yeah, for hardcore games I have my awesome computer. I want a Wii for fun, and also to let my parents play xD But I asked about the stores because some don't ship internationally, and some don't accept international credit cards. And Google didn't help me to find a store, only place I could find with Wii's in stock was Gamestop. And still, that was a bundle with extra controllers and stuff. Not that I won't need them, but I was looking for the console only =) There's also E-bay, but... how trustful is it? I never shopped there. And still, I don't think everyone there ships to here ¬¬ @Oblivionz: yeah, yeah, I want to play with my family (sister, mom and dad). If the Wii works in PAL, then I'll only need a voltage conversor (I have tons of them here, don't worry). =) Edited October 3, 2007 by Saget |DeviantArt|Flickr|YouTube|#amf|
Trows
If you're getting the Wii from America, it will be NTSC, and since Brazil uses the PAL format, you'll have to import all your games from America too. No dough this post will get questions and and maybe even some fighting.

Or hope that someone sells NTSC games around here... right? =P Edit: Gamestop can't ship a Wii here. Great.
