Taxi Ride

I really love the idea that you can catch a taxi in Grand Theft Auto Vice City and it drops you off at a specific area every time. I wish they had in San Andreas or hope its on IV. How many of you think it should be on Grand Theft Auto IV? Anyways back to the topic, is the taxi ride a glitch or something or is it just a one time see when playing the game? For those of you that don't know of it, he is always next to the Ocean View Hotel with a pink cruiser pointed on his taxi. Don't shoot at it or anything. Just press what you usually press to get into cars. He then just takes somewhere between Washington Beach and Ocean Beach. Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif

It's not a glitch. You'll see this taxi when you fail a mission by getting busted or wasted - a taxi will be parked nearby the closest cop station/hospital and will always return you to the place at which the mission was triggered.

Actually..

Niko will be able to travel around the city in buses, taxis and trains. Bus timings can be viewable at bus stops although nothing else has been confirmed. While in a taxi Niko can pay the driver more to go faster, or he can just listen to the radio and watch the city go past.

It's in IV. icon14.gif

Justin is correct it is very useful to get back to where your previous mission was that you failed.

If that is true, then I sure can't wait for Grand Theft Auto IV to come out. And if there's a way to put a gun to the transportation driver, I'll be real happy! happy.gif

Yeah you'll be really happy when the taxi has nitrous and the taxi driver goes crazy and crashes into a building at 200 mph.

I'm pretty sure if the taxi ride in GTA4 is true then Rockstar Games will program them right. And not to go more then 120 miles per hour or drive on the lines and whether or not to cross red lights.

Well if the taxi had nitrous it could probably reach over 180 mph. An average car can go 120-130 mph if the engine is strong enough. And if you are holding a gun to his head he might get distracted and try to shake you off.

It would be pretty gruesome seeing both of yous flying out of the windshield after hitting something at 180 mph. Though I hope you don't get hurt when you crash cars, it's already annoying enough with bikes. But we're quite off-topic we have moved to a GTA IV discussion in the GTA VC forum.

The only problem with the taxi rides after being wasted or busted in VC was that there was no way to get the weapons back so the ride was usless for most missions. In VCS, however, this was fixed as weapons woul be returned for $2000 and THEN u can take the taxi.
