itotophe
Hi people I'm playing GTASA v1.01 on a widescreen (1360*768), nearest available resolution is 1280*768 I'm playing full quality mode with 3 antialising but final quality is degraded due to 1280 to 1360 interpolation. Is there a possibility for this request ? thanx
Ring_of_Fire
For nVidia, go into ForceWare Control Panel and force the resolution you want manually. For ATi, go into Catalyst Control Center and force the resolution you want manually. Note: You might need to update your monitor drivers and then delete the [.set] file. itotophe
Hi and thanks for answer. Obviously I want to have 1360x768 resolution in the game , this option is not available. My windows desktop is already well configured. cheers
gillies
From what I gather this is more of a digital tv resolution and a lot of pc games don't support it, as you may know you can sometimes get around that by editing things in the registry or some conifg files but unfortunately the only config file for this game is not readable, or hacks but as far as I am aware there are none for this game. Registry Editing and hacking the San Andreas files/directories seems to be the only way.
VCHolmes
You'll have to do some editing, just like gillies said. San Andreas supports only 16:9 and 4:3. Try toggling the Widscreen option in the advanced display options menu.
Ring_of_Fire
I tested it out on my computer, and no, San Andreas doesn't support 1350 x *. What I did was to delete the monitor driver from Device Manager (this lets me use resolutions my monitor doesn't even support 2560x1600!), delete [.set] file, and then installed the v1.01 nomorehotcoffee patch. My question to the thread starter: "Why the hell wouldn't you want to use another higher or lower resolution than 1360x768!" It's like saying you want to use 320x240 over 640x480, when the option obviously isn't there. Read -> http://gtat.dracoblue.net/index.php?topic=4061.msg25686 http://www.htpcforums.com/index.php?showtopic=379 San Andreas doesn't support that res. Vice City which I tested, supports it! GTA Phreak
Hi peopleI'm playing GTASA v1.01 on a widescreen (1360*768), nearest available resolution is 1280*768 I'm playing full quality mode with 3 antialising but final quality is degraded due to 1280 to 1360 interpolation. Is there a possibility for this request ? thanx You can set your display driver to use "Fixed Aspect Ratio Scaling" and then use 1280*768 in the game. This will leave small black bars left and right (game only uses 1280 of the 1360 horizontal pixels), but will run in the native resolution of your LCD for best possible image quality. However GTA:SA doesn't cope well with non 4:3 resolutions, - so you might need further adjustments to get a non-stretched image. Some have reported good results with SA CamHack for correcting aspect-ratio.

It's like saying you want to use 320x240 over 640x480, when the option obviously isn't there. I'm playing on a LCD screen and stretched image (1280 to 1360) often looks awful, (ie specially with wire fence) The reason why I want to play 1360x768 is I want to display better quality as I can. I made tests with 1360x768 compliants games and I can tell result is much better than 1280x768. I can't use higher resolution than 1360x768 because image is cropped when I play and sometimes I have an "out of sync" message from the screen. It's frustating to play with an high powered computer and degrading final display with a non native screen resolution. Cheers
Ring_of_Fire
Tell me all the resolutions your monitor supports. I am sure there are better options than 1360x768 to say the least.
