Im Rick James B**ch!
Game Procedure: 1. I pick two artists (In a vs b format) 2. The next poster chooses the better artist. 3. This poster then chooses any band to oppose this artist. 4. These bands are placed in a vs b format and the game continues. Game Rules: 1. Don't mention any esoteric artists. 2. Don't create repeat battles. 3. Reasoning is Require. ---- EDIT Let the games begin.... Justice vs Daft Punk Edited October 2, 2007 by Im Rick James B**ch! nealmac
What happens if you know nothing about either bands? (I'll say daft punk here, because I know nothing of the other band) Daft Punk Vs Interpol
Im Rick James B**ch!
Don't post. Their shouldn't be scenarios were no one will know the bands, as it is in the rules that they musn't be esoteric. Daft Punk v Kanye West

Moonshield
I don't think this is going to fly. Substance by way of music discussion would be preferred. Plus we've already got a one-line topic known as the 'Now Playing' thread. I'm going to keep the thread open only if future posts provide substantiation for who beats whom. Just because an opinion is subjective doesn't mean you can't back it up. Jesus.

Vic Campo
Arctic Monkees v Kaiser Chiefs Kaiser Cheifs are alot better.. Arctic monkeys are too mainstream for me Kaiser Cheifs vs Midnight Oil (old aussie band from the 80s) i'm not sure how to embed it but theres a video at
Im Rick James B**ch!
Not too fond of either so i'll have to say midnight oil because their Australian. Midnight Oil Vs ACDC
-shaDow
Midnight Oil solely because of "Beds are Burning." No song in history goes from cheesy and mediocre straight to f*cking glorious so quick. Midnight Oil vs. (7L &) Esoteric LOL
Attorney General
i'll have to say midnight oil because their Australian. I think your logic is a tad skewed there, my friend. AC/DC originated from Sydney if I'm not mistaken. And Moonshield asked for a little substance in these posts, no? As for the match-up...there's no question...AC/DC knocks the socks off of any other band I've heard of from Australia. With the Young brothers on guitar...and badass banger Phil Rudd on drums...whether they had the late Bon Scott or Brian Johnson for vocals...they always blew me away. Back in Black, with power jams like You Shook Me All Night Long, Back in Black, Shoot to Thrill, Hells Bells and Have a Drink On Me, was a seminal influence on my musical taste growing up. The many other killer songs like Thunderstruck, TNT, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and For Those About To Rock, in my opinion, help to set them apart from other bands that made headway in the same hard rock genre that AC/DC owned for the better part of a decade. As for Midnight Oil...Beds are Burning? Blue Sky Mine? You've got to be kidding. They just don't stack up. AC/DC vs. Led Zeppelin

Im Rick James B**ch!
@ Attorney General: 1. Everyone ignore this post, he arrogantly broke the rules and then tried to argue that it was i who was ignorant. 2. As you obviously do not know the rules, commentary applies to the above "battle" eg. My post's commentary applied to "Kasier Cheifs vs Midnight Oil" 3. I think he meant elaborate on the basis of your decision. Although my statement was brief, it was the whole basis of my decision, thus, i perceive it as permissible. Guglielminpietro
AC/DC vs. Led Zeppelin Led Zep wins that of course. More diversity in their song styles, better vocals, better guitarist, better drummer. And just generally more good songs than AC/DC had. Errr.. Led Zep vs. Pink Floyd I guess. soundcloud.com/TheDamnFineCoats
TDP992
Wow, that's a pretty hard one. Both of them are awesome. Recently I've been listening to more Zeppelin, plus Jimmy Page is one of the greatest guitarists of all time, so I guess they win. Led Zeppelin vs. Boston

Boston is fun to listen to, but when compared against a great it's just not a contest. Zeppelin has an allstar cast of vocals, guitar, bass and drums. Thats an obvious one. Rush only have 3 members and can put any 4 or 5 man band to shame. Alex Lifeson destroys Page. No drummer can match Neil Peart's mastery and there are few bass players that can play like Geddy, not to mention he also sings and plays keyboards too. Now THAT is an all star cast. Rush vs. Primus I think I got the idea.
