Forfit
To get an idea: Logitech 2.
Rebel
Doesn't look like you're in America but to get an idea: Logitech 2.1 I have those. They are very good for the price. Plus you can plug these into your Ipod or TV or something and are pretty easy to move about and simple to set up. I'd say they are pretty good. Plus the bass on this is excellent. You only need to put it up to the 3 or 4th mark and people downstairs can hear it!

Forfit
If you want surround i'd suggest going 5.1 over 2.1 but finding a decent 5.1 for $50 or less is pretty unlikely, but i could be wrong. The best i can find...but out of price range. On the link you provided they are $96, that's alot.
Picolini
I've got some Phillips 2.1 speakers and subwoofer. It cost $40 at Walmart, and I think it's excellent. I've never turned it all the way up, it'd be too damn loud. Same with the woofer, it's damn loud at 1/4-1/2 the way up. I think the loudest I did was 3/4's, I didn't want to go higher mainly as to not blow them out, but it was way too loud that high anyways. The only problem I have with it is at really low volume it's hard to adjust. It's pretty much either too quiet, or a little to loud. You've gotta adjust it very slightly. http://reviews.cnet.com/pc-speakers/2-1-sp...99.html?tag=sub This is the 38 watt version, there's a 19 watt one too, which costs about the same, so make sure you find the right one if you go with this. GTA3Freak-2001
Well what soundcard you have has a part in how realistic the sound will be but you should notice a difference from what you already have definitely.

That's onboard sound and as such not going to give you high quality sound although its adequate for music, games and movies and combined with a new set of speakers will give the impression of better sound. Plus shipping taxes, specially if you're buying something that cheap. |DeviantArt|Flickr|YouTube|#amf|
Picolini
I find things to be easily 5-10% cheaper on line than in stores, for the most part. The thing that levels it out is usually shipping, but it either comes out even or just on the spot. When they're equal it all comes down to convenience. Either, do I need it now and do I have the time to go to the store, or can I wait and I don't have enough time to go shop for it. It's usually the second one for me
