xNamexTakenx
I'm fairly a new GTA fan, since LCS was my fiirst game. Well, I beat it. And then, I went to the Francis International Airport, and went underneath an airplane (Or the wheels, I should say), and I got crushed! It ran me over, and it said Wasted! Even with a car, it blows up. And then, in GTA 3 Since it's my second game I beat), I went underneath an airplane and nothing happened! I just went straight through lol. Has anybody else experienced this?
saintdave
Don't worry mate that's meant to happen. GTA 3 was made before LCS and the airplanes weren’t solid, merely a graphic that would follow a pre-determined route programmed in the game (take off, fly and land). The sound was put in for realism but you would pass straight through them. Many people assumed (myself included) that the planes in LCS would also be of the same build but I would soon find that out like you that attempting to go through them would cause in death! Ottae
Perhaps "Airtrain" doesn't mean the planes, might mean the models that are parked at the airport.
PlatinumSerb
Perhaps "Airtrain" doesn't mean the planes, might mean the models that are parked at the airport. No, the planes at the airport are named "ap_jumbo_0". Does anyone know where the game defines the airtrain? I cant find it in the main.scm. I know that it uses one of the path files(flight.dat?), but where does the game tell the "airtrain" which path to follow? EDIT: I think the reason that the airtrain doesn't use a col is because its lod value might be over 300?..?? In game you can see the airtrain flying high above the sky from any distance. Can anyone confirm this..do vehicles even have lod files.? Edited October 24, 2007 by PlatinumSerb
