coin-god
whenever i change or replace my GTA_VC.DAT my game crashes while loading or while starting. WTF could be wrong?? i tried everything and still it just crashes and shows da unhabitet exeption thing! That file its for adding new maps. If you have new ides and ipl (i think) you add them in the gta_vc.dat. If not don't do it.
GERBERT4LIFE
yea i know, but whenever i make my own IPL and IDE on moomapper and add the reference to the GTA_VC.DAT it always crashes while loading. Also when i download new maps and replace my GTA_VC.DAT with the one in the download the game always crashes. So whenever i replace the original one vc screws up
Wesser
Hi, Are you sure that the path of the file IPL corresponds to that of gta_vc.dat? I think that it is wrong. Bye Bye 012 345 678 9A BCD EFG HIJK LMN OPQR STUV WX YZ
GERBERT4LIFE
yes i checked and i even rewrote it a few times. I even tried moving the coll file to the Models/coll. The paths are correct. For example the IPL is located in Data/maps/privateisle/privateisle.ipl thats whats says in the Gta_vc.Dat: IPL DATA\MAPS\privateisle\privateisle.IPL so i gues its correct and i dont think the author of this map would mess up. HAVE NO CLUE AT ALL ON WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE WRONG!
JostVice
You maybe need to change your limits using VC limit adjuster... other than that, check that they are in the correct zone of the file.
GERBERT4LIFE
I also checked the limits. i tried to even set buildings to 13000 and dummys to 9000 and streaming memory to 128. down it says its enough in green. But i do have mod installed on that i made "little Haiti 1994" which is quite big but it still has enough memory. but i did adjust the limits to alot higher infact i experemented with the limits and nothing worked. The problem i think is in the Gta_vc.dat or in how the game reads it because when i remove the IPL DATA\MAPS\privateisle\privateisle.IPL from it the game doesnt crash anymore. WIERD! GERBERT4LIFE
I FOUND OUT PART OF WHAT WAS WRONG By doing a simple test i found out what was the reason for my VC to crash I added the IPL and IDE to Gta Myriad Islands and then put in the other files of original vc into it, each time checking if it would crash. Until i came upon the objects.Dat file my vc did not crash at the beggining but then eventually it still crashed because some objects did not load correctly due to the file not being from the original vc. I dont know how to fix this unless i play with the Objects.Dat from myriad islands which also lags. Could somebody maybe make a download of their Objects.Dat to fix up mine. That would be really nice thx Edited September 30, 2007 by GERBERT4LIFE
