Magic_Al
My first thought looking at the official site is, "next gen San Andreas!" But I realize it's just a racing game. No getting out of the car and doing whatever you want, just racing. It's the "real" Los Angeles and "real" cars, so it won't have GTA's humor and it won't offend anybody. But it looks so pretty. It's from Rockstar and uses the same engine as GTA4 and the same city Los Santos was based on, so I can't help but compare. Yet I know if I want it to be San Andreas I'll be disappointed. Of course I'll be getting GTA4, but I'm wondering if buying Midnight Club: Los Angeles would be worth it for the scenery. Will it deliver a driving experience superior to GTA4 or will it just be redundant. Does it force you to race all the time or does it let you explore the city at all? I want a next-gen San Andreas and this isn't it, but it's teasing me by looking like it.
Vanillainy
... Its going to be racing, what do you expect? Its nowhere near a next gen San Andreas.

We dont know because we didnt feel either GTA Iv or MCLA,but in my opinion get both because MC3DUb was great and the next game can just be an improvment
Grandthefter
if its like DUB then its just a much better NFS. You can go anywhere you want when you're not racing, and then enter a marker (ala GTA) to start a race. But its just racing, nothing else. Though it should have cops to run away from
XN22
Pfft, get a real driving sim. Personally, I hated MC3.
GTA3Freak-2001
Pfft, get a real driving sim. Personally, I hated MC3. Well if you expected a driving sim out of it then of course you'd hate it, it wasn't trying to be one. As far as the topic goes, if you want to see how far apart Midnight Club Los Angeles is to San Andreas then go and play Midnight Club 3 as that featured Los Angeles as the first city. And you will see that its far from San Andreas as you should expect being that the game is in a different genre.

But nah, when I picked up the game I knew nothing about it. IMO it was alright until the unordered races.

Yeah my mistake, LA was the first city in Midnight Club II.

I'm glad though there were less of those than in MC2.
matthew1g
I like unordered races, they were a real challenge to win, in my opinion and were something different than having all the closed tracks you see on most Street racers. I've seen LA trailer, and quite frankly it looks awesome.
Grandthefter
I still remember the very first with the double deckers and bulldozers. They were fun, its a shame they dropped them

Oblivionz
Get it. I find the Midnight Club games amazing. DUB Edition is the only one I have right now, though. I find it much better than NFS series.

GTA3Freak-2001
is that the euphoria engine? Euphoria is a physics engine, you probably meant to say RAGE which is Rockstar Advanced Game Engine and is most likely the engine being used in MC:LA. I read somewhere that it is confirmed that it is the RAGE engine just like GTA IV. So i think all games made by Rockstar are going to be using the RAGE Engine. Carbine23
I hope the map size is big since it's only 1 city. Los Santos really screwed up on looking like L.A. but this seems like it'll sort of look like it. They better have some landmarks like the Beverly Center, Rodeo Drive, Kodak Theater, Hollywood Blvd etc. Even though its just a racing game it would be cool to see realistic pedestrians.
