I'd just like to report to you guys that I'm not far away from transferring the files from Version 1 to Version 2. I went on Rapid Share, but it's difficult to download from there. (I'm easily confused).

 

Hopefully I'll be done so I can do some San Fierro missions.

Don't you already have v2?

I remember you taking a turn some time back.

 

About Rapidshare, I don't have any problems since my ISP gives me dynamic IP as a result of which I can download files back to back without waiting for the time Rapidshare forces you to wait for.

yeah, that happened to me at the end of Reuniting the Familys, I was trying to build up the ammo for the M4 but the weapon didn't show that it was picked up. I went back to the AK47 & it wouldn't show that it was picked up also - that's from the Armory but the regular pick-up for the AK47 worked alright. I didn't try the other weapons.

yeah, that happened to me at the end of Reuniting the Familys, I was trying to build up the ammo for the M4 but the weapon didn't show that it was picked up. I went back to the AK47 & it wouldn't show that it was picked up also - that's from the Armory but the regular pick-up for the AK47 worked alright. I didn't try the other weapons.I checked on this as well - and found inconsistent behaviour. So I ended up checking the Armory on 3 different files:

 

girishb's Badlands:

machine guns: icon YES, ammu stays same

pistols: icon YES, ammu YES

assault rifles: icon & ammu NO

shotguns: icon & ammu NO

 

gta phreak's Home Invasion:

all icons YES

all ammu NO except pistol(s)

 

new game / first posted save:

all icons YES

 

ammu: (picked up, went out, waited a bit, went back in)

1st time: all YES

2nd time: only tec9, shotgun, M4, pistols YES

3rd time: NO ammu, except pistols

 

 

For a while I thought ammu pickups might be restricted to 2500 max, but that doesn't seem to be it (I collected ammu for the Desert Eagle up to 4000). Especially the fact that the icons' behaviour changes with time and that on some point you can't pick up some weapons anymore at all feels glitchy.

Regarding the armory weapon pickups: Yes, they can be a little unreliable about adding ammo after you've already picked them up; it's the way the game engine works for that type of pickup and there's probably nothing we can do about it. You don't see it in the standard game because they never use that type of fast-respawning pickup. It may be a glitch where the model respawns before the pickup is actually "active" again or it may simply be we don't fully understand how they are supposed to work. Rubregg's one test method about leaving the safehouse completely, waiting a minute, then coming back should give everything enough time to regenerate, at least if you don't already have a lot of ammo for that weapon.

 

However, the reason those pickups have such huge ammo to begin with is so that you don't have to go on huge ammo collecting runs. Unless planning a massive rampage or vigilante spree, just grabbing the armory pickups once or twice should be enough to play for the next several missions.

 

For those seeing the strange behavior, the question is: is it bad enough that you'd prefer the original kind of pickups that won't reappear for several in-game hours or is it more a minor inconvenience?

Well, I don't think this is much of a problem since the normal pickups work perfectly fine. So, we can always fall back on them.

Only the armory pickups (and only certain armory pickups at that) seem to be broken. As girishb noted, the original pickups still work so you can still get shotguns and assault rifles "the old fashioned way." I have some ideas about what happened, but it's going to require me to sift through a whole lot of saves....

 

EDIT: The good news is I know exactly why those pickups aren't working; the bad news is I need to find out what the hell happened. If you're curious, what happened is that somewhere between the original turn and now, the ammo count for all of the machine pistol/smg, assault rifle, and shotgun pickups in the armory became zero. My afternoon will now be spent looking through every posted save trying to pin down exactly when....

@pdescobar: During the testing phase I noticed that when I got greedy & tried to take advantage of the shared ammo of certain weapons the ammo count quit accumulating. It would only change because of the different magazine sizes but would have the same total amount. Maybe the 'shared' ammo has something to do with this?

I'm gonna have to call a forfit.

 

It looks like my computer is about to crash or something. Well my SA was being weird and would crash on me when i loaded a game so I uninstalled it. When I reinstaleld I went to play SA. Clicked the desktop icon and got a message saying this.

This application has failed to start becasue vorbis.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

 

So I just tryed to re-install it and when I go and click on un-install San Andreas I get another message saying this.

 

Error Loading C:/progra~1\common~1\instal~1\profess~1\Run Time\10\50\Intel32\Ctor.dll

 

The specified module could not be found.

 

So I cant play SA or try re-installing it. angry.gifsuicidal.gif (replace the head with my computer)

If anyone can help me, it would be greatley appricted.

@ryan92: Maybe your uninstaller is corrupted. Did you try any mods?

Try deleting the game folder manually. Also, delete the gta_sa.set file from the User Files folder and then try re-installing the game.

Um well I took this turn expecting to do Deconstruction. I went to triger the mission and it went to 555-We Tip. I uploaded girishb's turn and it also went to 555-We Tip. So either we got a problem or Deconstruction is after the 555-We Tip. The way I remember it was the mission Where Flowers In your Hair then It was econstruction.
