Rhoda
Who here like Nine Inch Nails? I personally love them, saw them at Leeds 2007, though Year Zero took some getting into. Does anyone have a favourite album of theirs and why?
just another thug
I have to listen to NiN in small doses. I like the music, but sometimes it gets too whiny and boring. My favorite album is The Downward Spiral.
makeshyft
Year Zero was easier for me to get into than With Teeth. It sounded like he had managed to develop upon the more upbeat tone he attempted for 'Teeth'. My personal favourites are Pretty Hate Machine, followed by The Fragile. Oh, and to answer the question: Yes, I like Trent Reznor's music. Edit: Oh, you wanted to know why as well. PHM has a simplicity which I am drawn to. It's not pretentious at all and I love the rich synth drums. I like the fact it wasn't completely slick, also. With music like his it is far too easy to overproduce. OH NO
reznor said something to the media/fans recently along the lines of "burn as much free music as you can i dont give a f*ck" which was good of him. Have been getting into them these last few years due to my mate being a big fan. Industrial.
Canoxa
Pretty much all NIN albums are different from each other and each one takes different amounts of time to get into. I grabbed them at their second concert, February 11 at Lisbon. Amazing. Trent's voice live pierces through you in a stunning way.
Breaking Bohan
Has anyone heard anything about a new album? I didn't even know there was a tour for Year Zero, or at least that I was aware of ... and that came out at least a year or two ago. Also, IMO Year Zero doesn't strike me as the type of album that would require as much time and effort on Trent's part as some of his older albums. Plus, he's sober now, so shouldn't he be more productive!?
Rhoda
"The Slip" and "Ghosts" are the newest projects by NIN. "Ghosts" was a completely instrumental boxset consisting of 36 tracks in 12 parts, and that was released earlier this year I believe. "The Slip" is the closest thing to an album that's fairly new. It was released in May as a free download, which ain't too bad for a 10 track album. There will be a physical release in July however.
Titanfan
I like Head like a hole, terrible lie, f*ck you like an animal, and some other songs. I bought pretty hate machine but I can't listen to the whole album. I just can't get into it.

Sweet news - Question: Do you own "Ghosts"; is it just variations/remixes of old songs minus lyrics; and would you recommend buying it. More importantly, "Slip" is currently availiable from NIN for FREE??? At their website?
Hellfaith[pest]
Although I once was a nin fan. Trent Reznor's lyrics have turn to sh*t. His music is starting to repeat over and over again too.
Canofceleri
I've always liked The Fragile. It's flawed, but it has some good music and atmosphere and I guess it's sort of reminiscent of my early teenage years since I got it around then. The lyrics do blow cock... but the music is pretty badass. Try cranking up Somewhat Damaged somewhere, it's the sh*t.
Rhoda
I do love The Fragile as an album. I have epic memories of getting blasted to that whole album. And I do own "Ghosts", purely for merchandise value I think. It's great to listen to, don't get me wrong, but if you can get it in full somewhere else, save your money. Tryst
I physically own every NIN album. Except for the slip which isn't at my door yet, and the closure movie (which has yet to release on dvd ) I love NIN, my single favorite band if I could pick one. Their best album was the Further along the Downward Spiral remix disk, that disk kicks more ass than physically possible. The Live Beside you In time dvd was incredible too, I went to a show on that tour not exactly the same as actually being there but the camera work and audio mixing was perfect. Breaking Bohan, yes the slip is avalible for download completly for free off the website. And I do own the Ghost 2disk physical version. I woulda bought the 75 dollar package had I 300 to spare, not the 300 one thats a bit excessive even for me. Ghost was a true masterpeice in my opinion, its minimal yet overpowering with sounds at the same time which is awsome. Also, not to be nitpicky, but its Closer not f*ck you like an animal.
