What is VC:MP?

VC:MP or Vice City MultiPlayer is a modification for Vice City which enables PC users to play together online over a server.

Where can I get VC:MP?

VC:MP can be downloaded from the VC:MP official website, Here.

The current release is version 0.3z. Once VC:MP is updated, most servers will not work unless you have the correct version, which must be downloaded from the given site. Make sure you're always up to date.

How can I join a server?

Joining a server is easy. Once you have successfully installed VC:MP, Open up vc-mp.exe, Type a nickname for yourself in the "Name: ". Then click the tab at the bottom named "Internet". Find a server you like the look of, and click connect. You may have to double click the server for the Connect button to come up.

NOTE: Some servers require you to register your name before you play. Instructions on how to register should be given when you first log on to a server.

VC:MP Controls

Once you are on the character selection screen on your chosen server, Press Left or Right to scroll through the characters and fight the one you want.

When you have found one you like, Left Click to start.

If you need help on actually running around and shooting, please go to Options > Controller Setup > Redefine Controls to see what your controls are.

Buttons for use in game:

  • T - Talk in game. Press this and then type a message to talk.
  • TAB - Hold this to show what players are on, what the scores are and what everyones Ping and ID are.
  • F4 - Press this to get rid of character names when playing
  • F5 - Hold this to show the players and their scores.
  • F7 - Press this to make the chat box larger or smaller to your liking
  • F8 - Press this to take a screenshot in game.
Notes for in-game

If you get low on health, there are lots of health pickups located around the maps. Bear in mind that different servers have different locations for these pickups.

If you need more ammo, you can usually go into Ammu-Nation and buy more or different guns. Keep in mind you must kill people to get money for guns.
