Rebel
I wouldn't of made a topic about this, BUT I've been having problems for ages about this and its been annoying me. The thing is, It says you can share your media with your computer to your XBOX 360, now does that mean a desktop or a laptop? Because I've tried pretty much all the information it gives me on the WMP 11 and the Xbox 360 help to try and connect my laptop to my 360. I have a wireless connection for both of them that goes to my router downstairs. And when I turn on sharing in Windows Media Player 11 it doesn't seem to pick up any devices. On the help as well it says you need windows vista to be able for it to work, is that true? I'm running Windows XP SP2. Any help on how to connect my laptop to my 360 would be great because I'd really like to use the media sharing.

Iminicus
You can do it. You need SP2 running on XP. And you will need either WMP 11 or Windows Media Sharing. Using WMP 11 is easier to set up. My network is: Xbox 360 Laptop running XP Laptop running Vista (Not mine) Another Xbox 360 Laptop running Linux Apple Macbook Pro (Waiting for that)

Iminicus
Are you using a router? If you are, you want to connect both the laptop and 360 to it separately using CAT5 ethernet cables. You will then want to go to the 360 dashboard and over to the Media tab. Highlight Music or Movies and it should come up with several options. 1. Computer 2. Console 3. USB Device 4. Disc. Click on Computer and then follow the prompt. You might get be asked to set up a new network by the 360. You will do this on your laptop. Otherwise it should be straight forward and only require a system reboot on the laptop and 360. If you don't have a router just connect the 360 straight into the laptop and then follow the above advice. You might have to play around with network settings on your laptop to get it to recognize the 360 depending on your laptop age. Newer laptops will easily recognize the 360 but anything 3 - 5 years old has trouble. Also, if you have a broadband connection, make sure you get a router and never turn the 360 on before the laptop, otherwise you will create a bridge connection to the internet through the 360. This will greatly reduce your internet speeds because Microsoft has capped the Xbox Live speeds. If you are still stuck you can email me, MSN messenger me or check www.xbox.com/support. Hope this helps.
SIXAXIS
Weird cause my PS3 connect the same way trhough WMP 11 and it works. I think you have to enable file sharing on WMP11, then turn on the 360, go to the sharing part (if its not already on) and then on WMP11, choose the 360 to share files to. That should work. P.S. Sorry if you don't understand my instructions. I'm pretty crap at explaining.
