How much skill is there in Bloodring?

It seems to be mainly just luck, getting a few of the targets lined up in your path in quick succession.

 

I can stay alive for quite a long time without any problem, taking the "repair" icons when necessary. But it seems to be pure luck if there are enough red targets within range or if another car takes them and I can only hit the target time when there are a few of the red targets that happen to appear close together

 

It usually takes me about 5 attempts to pass it but can sometimes take a lot longer.

Yeah. It does require a bit of luck other than good handling skill.

If you had no driving skill that sounds like you had a lot of luck

I did it near the beginning of the game, no driving in-game skill, just knowing where to go, what to do and the Jetpack cheat.(I know it isn't the cheats section, but I just metioned how I did it.)

How does the jetpack cheat help you in Bloodring?

You're still in the car so can't fly anywhere

 

Anyway, that's cheating and as you say, this isn't the cheats section

I think the OP's question was regarding actual skill and luck, not the in-game "driving skill" and "luck" stats. And I agree, there seems to be no best strategy for winning; just hope for markers in the right places at the right times.
