ecliptic134
I haven't played Vice City on my computer in a few months. I uninstalled it a while ago and when I re-install it now, It crashes after the introduction movie. There are no errors, it just flashes the screen with distortion after the movie. It used to work perfectly before but I recently moved and had the computer shipped, and since then I've been having problems. Ive had video problems but I fixed those, now I just cant play 3D games. Any suggestions besides buying a new card would be greatly appreciated. Windows XP Pro SP2 1 GB DDR400 Onboard GeForce 6100 Graphics Just recently re-installed chipset and graphics drivers. Just recently did a clean re-install of game.
Justin
Try Windows 98 compatibility mode, and also deleting the SET file. PS: Try to use informative topic titles in future. Thanks.

Ring_of_Fire
Onboard GeForce 6100 Graphics Go download http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php and tell us your chipset info. The drivers you need to get are probably the nVidia nForce drivers.

Ring_of_Fire
It's not just vice city either....all 3D games Did this driver install successfully? http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_162.18.html If not, then who is your motherboard and computer manufacturer? Tell me the models as well. In the mean time, download all the Windows updates at the "Windows Update" website. Also, you most likely have DirectX 9.0c, correct? To *Justin the Moderator*: If the thread starter had problems in more than 1 game (not only Vice City), don't you think there might be a missing update such as Microsofot .NET Framework? Also, onboard GPUs such as GeForce 6100 - the drivers might actually be provided by Micirosoft! It is also because I wasn't sure if nvidia provided GeForce onbard drivers and I didn't want the thread start to download the wrong driver. Plus, he didn't post what his compauter/mobo manufacturer was, so it is safe to assume. Edited September 26, 2007 by Ring_of_Fire

VCHolmes
It's not just vice city either....all 3D games Well, integrated graphics isn't to powerful. Get a better graphics card. Or try emulating 'Bump Cap Maps' with 3D-Analyze: http://www.3dfxzone.it/dir/tools/3d_analyze
ecliptic134
Thanks for all of your help, but nothing is working. I have no idea why it used to work perfectly then when I shipped the computer it stopped. I'll just get a graphics card. Thanks though. This forum rocks.
