zmoonchild
I would have posted this on P.D. Escobar’s ‘No Wanted Level’ Mission Exploits post, but this does not quite fit that category. During the mission ‘Stowaway’, it seems to be impossible to get a wanted level higher than 2-Stars. First, I destroyed the plane before it took off, then I just rode around and tried to destroy and kill things, there’s no time limit for completing the mission. The mission does continue on at that point even though the plane has been destroyed. If you want to, you can ride up to it and trigger the rest of the mission onboard the plane, which, for some reason, is not destroyed anymore. I read that somewhere on GTAForums, I don’t remember where though. Anyway, back to what I discovered: It was hard to get a 1-Star wanted level, and once I got it, it disappeared very quickly every time. It was extremely hard to get a 2-Star wanted level; destroying aircrafts wouldn’t trigger it, killing a few cops wouldn’t trigger it. I had to keep on searching for, and killing cops before it finally triggered a 2-Star level. It seemed as though the game was very reluctant to give me any wanted level. I was never able to get a 3-Star (or higher) level, no matter what I did. Edited September 22, 2007 by zmoonchild

pdescobar
It's actually pretty similar to the No Wanted exploits. Stowaway is one of the missions that lowers the "sensitivity to crime" setting (opcode 03C7). The standard value is 1.0 but stowaway drops it to 0.0; as you've found out, you can still get stars at a zero level. Quite a few missions change this setting. Some of the others which drop it to 0.0 for at least part of their missions are Burning Desire, Catalyst, Just Business, Madd Dogg's Rhymes, and Deconstruction. 555 We Tip even uses a setting of -1.0 for part of the mission; I don't much know how negative values work though. pomor
Close to the airstrip there was impossible to get wanted level, as I destroyed many vehicles during the Stowaway mission, Andromadas mostly And some Hydras, Bobcats and whatever. But if I remember correctly, back in LV I got two stars without even trying, just for exploding a car in the garage. Granted, I never have tried to get 3 stars or more... gamefarter
Hey, good find. it is known already though because I found this same glitch about a year ago, and made a topic for it, and everything. Stowaway has several wierd glitches, this is one of them. Here's another that I found about a year ago, but never posted about it: If you destroy the plane (the one with the ramp) and go to Fort Carson, there is a plane, (I forget the name of it) that spawns in a front yard of a house in Fort Carson. The weird things about it is that the accelleration is changed to the break button, and I could never get it to take off without blowing up, because of where it spawns, there are too many obstacles. Where's this house? I seem to remember there are two motels next to eachother, (one has an empty swimming pool) and there is a road that runs perpendicular to the road these motels are on, about 3-5 block down the perpendicular road to the motels. that's as good a discripion as a can give right now. It's been over a year, but I finally got it up in the forums. Perhaps someone could find it and give better directions to itslocation. On topic: I don't think I ever went to the resricted area to see if it gave me more stars. (I was in SF when I realized I wasn't getting the star level I should be getting) Has anyone else tried this yet?
