XN22
What was the most f*cked up TV moment you've seen? Mine would have to be the X-Files episode, "Home". I didn't have the honor of seeing this when it first aired, rather a few years later on a different network (Fox banned it after its first airing). Basically, Mulder and Scully find a dead fetus near an "abandoned" house with several birth defects linked to incest. They later find out the family in that "abandoned" house was 3 brothers, a mother, and a father. The mother had all her limbs amputated, and the brothers "practiced incest" as the show puts it. The brothers looked like they came straight out of a Wes Craven movie as well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_%28The_X-Files%29 Great episode though. There's a few moments from the show "Millenium" that I'll save for later.

Groovy
From Wiki: On January 22, 1987, the day before his sentencing, Dwyer called a press conference to "provide an update on the situation." Many expected Dwyer to announce his resignation from office. At the conference, an agitated and nervous Dwyer once again professed his innocence, and declared that he would not resign as state treasurer. Those attending would hear his final words: I thank the good Lord for giving me 47 years of exciting challenges, stimulating experiences, many happy occasions, and, most of all, the finest wife and children any man could ever desire. Now my life has changed, for no apparent reason. People who call and write are exasperated and feel helpless. They know I'm innocent and want to help. But in this nation, the world's greatest democracy, there is nothing they can do to prevent me from being punished for a crime they know I did not commit. Some who have called have said that I am a modern day Job. Judge [Malcolm] Muir is also noted for his medieval sentences. I face a maximum sentence of 55 years in prison and a $300,000 fine for being innocent. Judge Muir has already told the press that he, quote, "felt invigorated" when we were found guilty, and that he plans to imprison me as a deterrent to other public officials. But it wouldn't be a deterrent because every public official who knows me knows that I am innocent; it wouldn't be a legitimate punishment because I've done nothing wrong. Since I'm a victim of political persecution, my prison would simply be an American gulag. I ask those that believe in me to continue to extend friendship and prayer to my family, to work untiringly for the creation of a true justice system here in the United States, and to press on with the efforts to vindicate me, so that my family and their future families are not tainted by this injustice that has been perpetrated on me. We were confident that right and truth would prevail, and I would be acquitted and we would devote the rest of our lives working to create a justice system here in the United States. The guilty verdict has strengthened that resolve. But as we've discussed our plans to expose the warts of our legal system, people have said, "why bother," "no one cares," "you'll look foolish," 60 Minutes, 20/20, the American Civil Liberties Union, Jack Anderson and others have been publicizing cases like yours for years, and it doesn't bother anyone... At this point Dwyer stopped with his prepared text and called to three of his staffers, giving each an envelope. It was later discovered that one contained a suicide note to his wife. The second was an organ donor card and other related materials. The third was a letter to the newly-inaugurated governor Robert P. Casey. After handing out the envelopes, Dwyer opened a brown envelope and withdrew a .357 Magnum revolver, advising those in the crowd, "Please leave the room if this will offend you." Those in attendance cried out to Dwyer, pleading with him to put the gun down ("Budd—don't!" was heard on television). Some tried to approach him. "Stay away, this thing will hurt someone," he warned.[4] Those were his last words. Amid the cry of "Budd, Budd, Budd!" Dwyer put the gun barrel into his mouth and pulled the trigger. He collapsed on the floor, in front of five television news cameras. Dwyer was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:31 AM CDT.[4] I think he was in some sh*t for taking kickbacks or something. XN22
Yeah, I just watched it, sure takes the thunder away from my X Files episode. Anyway, off that subject, and onto programs, one from the show Millenium. I believe the episode was called "The Ghost Of Frank Black" or something similar. It was the halloween episode for those that saw it. The part in the attic still manages to give me chills.

tuareg
Yep, nothing f*cked up enough to mention. Maybe the riots we had around here last year, although that would be more ridiculous/funny than f*cked up. I mean, stealing the water cannon from the police, then using it against them? Fail. Rhoda
We had a commerical/advert/whatever you want to call it here in the UK a few years back which involved a bloke gagging in his armchair, and then falling onto his carpet only to have him vomit up a whole f*cking dog, stretching his mouth out and everything. It had a massive amount of complaints and after about 3-4 days it got taken off air. Good thing really, scared me absolutely sh*tless...

Rhoda
It was for some new chewing gum, "Wrigley's Extra", trying to suggest that you use it if you had "dog breath". Though if I found myself vomitting dogs, I'd check myself into the nearest hopsital, nevermind the corner shop for gum. EDIT: Found it on YouTube. Don't watch if you have a phobia of dogs crawling out of mouths. Now that I've rewatched it, it's really not so bad. Lol to me. Though I reckon they've toned it down, you had a big close up of this guy on the rug barfing out this dog, cheeks like hot air balloons. Voodoo
That was cool. We don't get commercials like that in the US. I always wonder why. Edit - The Lucy Butler episodes always creeped me out when watching Millenium. There was one that featured the song "Love is Blue" by Paul Mauriat in which she abducts boys and imprisons them in kind of a psychotic dungeon. That song was in my head for ages. Rhoda
That was cool. We don't get commercials like that in the US. I always wonder why. Really? I would've thought you would, the USA's pretty much a de-sensitized market as it is, adverts like that wouldn't do much harm. We've had some pretty screwed up adverts. They seem pretty mild, yeah, but all three have been banned.
Voodoo
The recent wave of political correctness deprives us of allot of potential quality entertainment. I can't believe those were banned. I remember seeing the second one on some advert collection series on HBO or Showtime. Funny.
Rhoda
A lot of the time, ads like that are banned because of angry, bored mothers trying to protect their kids from "such filth" and end up removing anything remotely entertaining. Thank god for stuff like Adult Swim, HBO, abc1, Bravo and Paramount for providing controversial and downright wrong programming.
