[GTA Man]cycon77foamy[GTA Man]
cycon77foamy[GTA Man],Oct 2 2007, 00:15] Acctually SR is like GTA 3= Just doing mission for 'spect. Doing missions for other gamgs/factions. I don't really remember that. I think the Saints were the only gang you ever worked with. Well then it had that whole many different gangs in a city and you did missions that involved them all. Kind of like GTA3. Most if not all the gangs were involved in a majority of the missions. Banana
Saints Row 2 is set years after the original Saints Row™ in a Stilwater both familiar and strange. The explosive conclusion to Saints Row has left the player wounded, betrayed and thirsty for revenge, and now it’s time to take back the city that has forgotten him. A sequel to the first open-world title on next-generation consoles, Saints Row 2 features all new customization options, including gender, age, voice, crib and gang customization. The sandbox just got larger with a totally transformed and expanded city of Stilwater, offering all new locations to explore with new vehicles, including motorcycles, boats, helicopters and planes. angrybanana5000 is stoked

Pat
My god, I'm more excited about this than I am GTAIV. I LOL'd on that I was being serious. I mean, yeah, I should be excited about GTAIV, but I'm really not. Saints Row 2, however, is a different story. It could just be the fact that I'll finally learn what happens after the ending of SR1, but whatever.

Forty
I know the obvious gripes about Saints Row: that it's a shameless rip of GTA. And we're a GTA community, so there are a lot of SR haters. But I've got to be honest, Saints Row was fun as sh*t. I loved the city, I loved the cars, I loved that they have a REAL f*cking garage that you can save cars in, and come back and get them WHENEVER you want. I loved the weapons, the side missions, all of it. The story was a bit weak, and occasionally the controls would cause more harm than good. However over all, the game had a lot of elements that I wish GTA would have adopted by now. Maybe I was just excited to have a real deal sandbox game on the next gen systems. I don't know what it is, but SR was a ton of fun and I can't wait to play the second.

D. Hero
Hell yeah, I just heard about the details today(I've been really away from civilization for a while), I'm going nuts now. I haven't even thought about GTA:IV at all for a while, and this news is definately bringing up my gaming news spirits. I've waited so long to hear about this stuff. I'm looking forward to this way more than GTA. I think I'll start up a new game on my Saint's Row. This is awesome, I think I'll got insane from the anticipation now though. Southside Dukes Ballas
some of theese features seriously need to be added in GTA 4 or it's sequels. But this game looks sweet. Hopefully some of the missions won't be so off balanced on the difficulty. I mean am I the only person that thought that the mission where you had to kill Tanya easy as f*ck but the mission where you had to get rid of Price the hardest f*cking thing ever? Seddo
I've just been playing Saints Row for the first time in months and i've just done the mission's i've been struggling on for ages now. Just done the mission where you blow up that dudes plane as he's trying to escape with rocket launchers all over your arse and i've just done the mission where you dress up in Vice Kings cloths and wreck the city. Those missions might of been easy for some but they didn't half give me trouble. Anyone that's completed the game know if they're are any other hard missions like that?. I should get Saints Row 1 done by the time the 2nd one comes out.
TheDude5000
Damnit I wish my SR disc wasn't damaged. I had this airsoft scope that sucked, so I threw it out of anger, and the glass part shattered. One of the shards hit my SR disc and now it's unplayable. I'm either gonna rent it or re-buy it. Anyway Pat, the area I'm talking about...I think it's on the "island" with the Racer Gang, I don't remember their names. I think it's at the lower left section of the map. Anyway, I gotta say SR 2 looks to be what SR 1 should have been. I think it'll be one of the best games of 2008, it's shaping up to be quite f*cking awesome now. R* is going to be in an awkward position now, with no planes in IV. I mean if they don't put any in, even with this delay, it'll look pretty f*cking silly. Vanilla Shake
I think it's on the "island" with the Racer Gang, I don't remember their names. I think it's at the lower left section of the map. The Westside Rollers. As to comparing this with GTA IV's hype, I'd say that GTA IV buries this IMO, with or without planes. Probably because I've been waiting years for a GTA-style game set in a much better version of New York that actually feels like New York. Still, if this comes out before GTA IV then I'll definitely buy it and see how it is. TC718 / <629 / CF5
Pat
I know the area you're talking about Duder, but I've never heard of that glitch. I'm a visual person, I can't really understand something like that unless I see it. Anyway, staying on topic, expect me to require a new pair of pants after putting this in my 360. And Chris, it's Rollerz. They're gangsta! Edited October 12, 2007 by EmoPat
TheDude5000
- THQ wants to give Volition enough time to finish the game this time because of GTA IV.- Each character in the game has full access to the clothing palette. Want a "ghetto-brother" dressed in lingerie? No problem. That's why the character-editor is called "freak generator" internally. - The game is set 15 years after Saints Row 1, many areas changed. To enter some new areas you have to use a boat or a plane. There will also be a helicopter - Inspired by fans, the developers want to implement stunts as "mini-achievments", similar to the gaps in Tony Hawk's. - You have to control your balance while car-surfing with the analog-stick now. - Co-op mode via Xbox Live or local network. - You can use other characters as a human shield now. Also you can shoot a pedestrian in the balls, then rubbernecks will gather around that person. This way you can hinder your haunters. - You can also place limpet mines on cars... or walls... or on the backs of your enemies. - You can improve your residence, this is shown as artwork in this scan on the upper left. - The graphics improved a little and there shall be no more pop-ups. Also the weather effects looks "impressive", heat effects, rain etc. When it's raining the pedestrians use umbrellas. http://gameplanets.blogspot.com/2007/10/sa...-new-scans.html Oh yeah. f*ck yeah. Pat
Seems pretty damn awesome, but they're still stealing a lot of GTA features. I also don't like how it's going to come out after GTA IV; that certainly won't end well.
SIP YEK NOD
I think that GTA will still win on the technical and gameplay side. the two games are branching off into two seperate categories GTA 4 -cinematic -heavily storyline driven Saints row -wide open sandbox -more random funny side missions both will have aspects will cross over, but there is plenty of room in the market for both. GTA will naturally be bigger, but by saints row 5, they could be **gulp** "even"
TheDude5000
Wonder if we'll see any parodies of current gen sandbox titles in GTA IV. I mean SR is the highest scoring gta "clone", but will that stop them from making another "True Grime" billboard or something?
G MONEY $$$
The German magazine GamePro had a "world exclusive" feature on Saints Row 2: - THQ wants to give Volition enough time to finish the game this time because of GTA IV. - Each character in the game has full access to the clothing palette. Pat
Go back a page, G MONEY. You're a bit late. Also, four things I noticed in the scans: 1. Certain weapons will have lazer-sights 2. The area with one man, and a sh*tload of cops, is a prison 3. Certain buildings can be driven through with the plane 4. The helicopter is an apache (it's not being used by police, otherwise it wouldn't shoot them/they wouldn't shoot it)
TDP992
Is this supposed to be Johnny? His older self looks a lot like Ray Liotta. And besides GTA IV I think this is going to be the best game of the year.

And besides GTA IV I think this is going to be the best game of the year. Yeah that's definitely Johnny Gat. I'm sure his "prick-like" attitude will return in the next game as well. And at least the plot is somewhat continuing from where it left off. I really hope online play is improved. So many lagfests I had with SR, but the few games I did play that everybody had a decent latency were fu*kin' crazy.
