Looks all right, definitely looks like they did some work with character models. I enjoyed the first game and look forward to what the second has to offer.

It's looking nice and from the looks of things the setting seems a bit European but I guess that's just me.

 

I hope it continues on from the first game somewhat, I would really like to see the aftermath of the first game's ending.

Looks exactly like the original Saints Row. Which isn't really bad thing.

 

If it comes out before GTA IV, it'll be something to help pass the time. Nice to see that they got bikes and dual-wielding.

At first I thought that guy was holding a grenade or something. Reminded me of Brick in Anchorman.

Hopefully they will have Helicopters aswell. Graphics are looking improved. Guessing the city is completely fictional again.

Saints Row, while stale and adding virtually nothing to the open world concept, was still very well executed and a good game. The second one looks even better, especially since flight and bikes are confirmed. Flight was confirmed at E3 IIRC, when one of the devs wore a shirt poking fun at GTA IV, something to do with it not having flight and SR 2 having it. Definitely looking forward to this one, might even re-buy the first(disc is ruined from scratches).

Wonder who that is behind Johnny (not sure if that's really a spoiler, but just incase) in the first screenshot. Aiesha, or a "random hoe", as Sip would say, is my guess.

The game does look pretty good and at least it's got bike sin this time, hopefully the 2nd game will have planes and choppers.

 

I still haven't completed the first game yet, i'll have to get it off my cousin and start playing it again.

It's looking pretty good, kinda has the feel of the old Saints Row though, And one of the motorbike pictures the wheel rim doesn't look half fake and unappealing.

No offical word on that Brad but it seems to feature the Third Row Saints and I always thought they were a small gang in Stillwater so you would have thought yes. But those screenshots don't really look like Stillwater to me to be honest.

 

Maybe the Third Row Saints go on the run or something to another city...I don't know.

Are you honestly looking forward to another Getaway game?

 

I never played the first [saint's Row]... heard both good and bad things about it so I just skipped it. However, this looks pretty nice so far. I'm not sure if you were able to dual wield guns in the first one, but it seems you can in this one. Being able to dual wield weapons for me always makes the gameplay so much better (as long as the targeting system doesn't suck). But, those character model faces look pretty damn robotic. I'm sure this is some sort of pre-Alpha screen though.

When THQ CFO Edward Zinser projected the company's first-quarter financials in May, he stated that revenues would be down, and the PlayStation 3 port of the 2006 Xbox 360 hit Saints Row had been canceled. In lieu of a PS3 version of the original, THQ CEO Brian Farrell noted that Saints Row creator Volition had shifted its full focus to developing the game's sequel for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, to release simultaneously next year.

 

Today, THQ officially confirmed that Saints Row 2--now its official title--would be coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2008. The publisher also revealed some details on how the protégé will attempt to differentiate itself from its inspiration, the Grand Theft Auto series. The distinction might be necessary, given that Grand Theft Auto IV's delay to Spring 2008 might pit it against Saints Row 2.

 

Saints Row 2 will return to an expanded version of Stilwater, the crime-plagued metropolis that was the original's locale. However, Volition lead producer Greg Donovan said the game will have a heavier tone than its predecessor. "Saints Row 2 has a much darker and more sinister story that leads your character down a path of betrayal, revenge, and redemption against the city that has left him for dead, although we've blended that with the same light-hearted humor from the original," he promised.

 

Saints Row 2 will also offer a number of new features. Previously mission-based, online two-player co-op will now be extended to the full campaign mode, which will let two virtual gangsters play through the entire story together. SR2 will also include a somewhat mysterious "open-world competitive multiplayer mode never before seen in the genre." And as is standard for a sequel, Volition has expanded on many features of the original, including new character-customization options and added vehicles, such as motorcycles, boats, helicopters, and planes.

 

THQ also launched the game's official Web site today. Saints Row 2 has not yet been rated or priced.
