I'm excited, because I always root a little harder for American players.

I'm right there with you as a Ducks fan. I'm still holding out hope that the Ducks' demise is greatly exaggerated. We still don't know how they'll play. They still have Getzlaf and Perry. Kesler isn't bad either.

Auston Matthews scored 4 goals in his debut (really, really impressing) and Brad Marchand had 5 points in his game. I wonder if we'll see more of these kind of stats this month.

Can't argue with the High School logo comparison, a lot of expansion teams have had sh*t logos. Remember the original Blue Jackets logo with that mosquito or whatever it was supposed to be? That was horrible..

Wings 4th goal - unf*ckingbelievable. I almost switched off I thought it was gonna be a blowout, Wings lost under pressure but then came back p aggressive.

 

One hell of a 3rd period for both teams tbh

Leafs are putting the right blocks in place to contend in the future, but they need to shore up their defensive game.. way too many blown leads thus far.

 

Was an absolutely awesome third period! For fans of both teams.

 

Auston Matthews shines again in the Centennial classic, the saga continues.

Gonna be a great battle between him and Laine for the Calder, hopefully both stay healthy.

A lot of things didn't exist. Smart phones, PlayStation and Xbox, pumpkin spice latte, Austin Matthews. A lot of things have left us since. Blockbuster Video, CRT TVs, physical media, Gordie Howe . A few things came and went. Nicklas Lidstrom's entire career.

Exciting times as the NHL gears up for the playoffs! Being a Leafs fan I'm still waiting for them to punch their ticket into the postseason, but odds are looking pretty good.

I'll be happy with any seeding, but that second wild card position and an opening round with the Caps is daunting.

 

Anyone projecting a final with any teams outside of the Caps or Penguins in the East? Or the Blackhawks and perhaps the Wild from the West?

 

I'm going to say it's a Hawks-Caps final, with the Caps finally getting it done.

After this playoff run, they've stolen Detroit's spot as my favorite team in the east. Liked them the last couple seasons, but watching them these playoffs, I just really like them now.

 

That said, on to the drafts, both expansion and entry, and next season is only a couple months away already. I love hockey.
