Anyone else find it funny that only one Canadian team is in the playoffs?

The last time only one Canadian team made the the playoffs was 1973 and that team was Montreal. They also went on to win the Stanley Cup. Here's to hoping 2014 is a repeat of 1973.

 

Hopefully, since there is no other Canadian NHL team is in the post season and if they do win it'll show some Canadian pride. When was the last time us Canadians won the Stanley Cup ? I know my Canucks were close to winning it a few years back.

Anyways, that Avs game though. Saw open-net safe on ESPN and then tied and then won in OT. They can win the Stanley Cup this year and you can be okay with that because they was in Canada before.

206 (give or take injuries and coaches' decisions) of the 320 players who are dressed in Round 1 of the playoffs are Canadian born.

I can get behind that. I have the Avs and Habs. Although, sorry, but I have Avs in 7. It'd be cool, though, Roy vs Montreal.

 

But I think the West is stacked. Almost every team has the potential to go deep, and it wouldn't even be an upset.

Yea, thank god I didn't go to downtown that day to celebrate my birthday. If I did then for all we know I could be in jail or w.e those guys are being sentenced. Yea, for me It was interesting to get lots of media attention but it was kinda sad that people had to do that just because a lose of a hockey game. Oh yea if you checked craigslist that day you could see a sh*t ton of LV bags for sale and other expensive designer bags. Well we're Canadian, we apologize to everything.

We had a Hockey Riot after our main college team made it to the National Championship Final like a week ago.

Yeah the recent one was pretty lame. The police made public threats against rioters and it was all over the media and that kind of scared people away. And of course getting expelled from college and losing all your credits scared people away too.

They also had an amazing 3D pre-game opening which set the bar pretty high for other teams to follow.

Boston just beat Detroit to take the series so Montreal vs Boston it is. Should be a heck of a series!

What a game, tonight. Duck vs. Stars. I thought, and I think the Stars did as well, that they were forcing a game 7, but the Ducks kept pressuring, and scored two goals in the last two minutes with their goalie pulled, and then another five minutes into OT. Their goalie, by the way, was Jonas Hiller who was a replacement for Frederick Andersen who let the four Dallas goals by. Hiller who struggled at the end of the season looked great, and is the reason the Ducks got the chance to tie the game, and then win it in OT.

 

This shouldn't be a surprise, the Ducks have gained a reputation this season for coming back in the third period.

 

Man, I'm still excited.

If Kings manage to finish the comeback, I won't have any team to root for in the playoffs, since Sharks are already my back-up team and Devils didn't make it. Well, at least there is the World Championship right around the corner.

So Apparently the Wild/Avs series is getting pretty interesting. I haven't really followed the Wild too much but the series is tied 3-3 now. And people here are getting psyched for game 7.

Leafs fans would argue otherwise. Lucky I'm not one and don't have to argue!

 

The game 7 between San Jose and Los Angeles is going to be incredible to watch. What a collapse if SJ loses four straight after going up 3-0 in the series. Unfortunately I know how it feels being a Bruins fan and seeing it happen in 2010 vs the Flyers.
