Vancouver just got robbed. Traded Cory Schneider to New Jersey for the 9th pick in the first round, despite offers from other teams for first and second round picks. So now after a year of being a backup to Schneider, Luongo is suddenly now the #1 goalie.

TSN just reported that they had been in contact with Luongo and that Luongo told them he had been in contact with his agent as he wants to be traded. Looks like Vancouver is caught between a rock and a hard place.

Wow never thought Bruins would've traded Seguin! But alot of people are saying that Claude Julien wasn't liking him.

To Stars:

Tyler Seguin

Rich Peverley

Joe Button

To Bruins:

Loui Eriksson

Matt Fraser

Rielly Smith

Joe Morrow

At first I thought Bruins got robbed but looking at it it ain't a bad trade. Eriksson is not even 28 years old and had 3 consecutive 70 points season before the lockout, plus a 36 goals season in 2008-2009. So he can score alot. Morrow and Smith are good prospects as well. Good trade, but still a shock to me. I thought Seguin was part of the Bruins for the next 10 years at least!

Alfredsson signs with Detroit, Sens trade for Ryan, Iginla goes to the Bruins, and other stuff that I can't think of off the top of my head.

I'm gonna miss Bobby in Anaheim, he's scored some of the most memorable goals in Ducks history, if not the most entertaining. The time he scored a goal with Mikko Koivu's stick was magical.

Hockey Canada announced the coaches for the Canadian Olympic team today. Detroit's Mike Babcock returns as the head coach while Dallas's Lindy Ruff, St. Louis's Ken Hitchcock, and Boston's Claude Julien are the assistants. Hell of a coaching staff right there.

They also released the orientation camp list. Some pretty big names on here.

Good trade for both sides if you look at it real close regarding team-specific needs. We (the Stars) have been looking for a franchise center forever and it will allow Benn to move to his natural position at LW. I hate that we gave up Fraser, though. He is a goal-scoring machine!

It has begun! Parros got knocked the f*ck out in that second bout with Orr. Scary moment. Hope he's ok.

It was one of those "I laughed until the ambulance came out" moments.

Yeah. Looks like a concussion. Hopefully a speedy recovery for him. Now we get to hear all the talk all year about taking fighting out of hockey :-/

Hell Patrick Roy had a crazier fight that any of the players on the first day.

Roy made Boudreau bitch out.

Man, the Rangers are giving out goals like they're going out of style. As a Ducks fan, I don't mind.

Apparently TSN just lost its rights to national broadcast rights for NHL games to Sportsnet for 12 years or so. Huge gamechanger in Canada. Wonder what TSN will show now.

Though Sportsnets quality is just really bad and TSN has always been far superior. Maybe Sportsnet starts putting in more money now.

Bit of a bump - y'all see the OT goal by the Sabres in the back of Smith's pants? Funny sh*t.

As a Ducks fan I couldn't be more happy.

Hey guys outdoor hockey in Southern California, impossible, right?

Well that was certainly an interesting trade deadline.

Without the doubt, the biggest steal of the deadline has to be Montreal getting Vanek for a second round pick and prospect Sebastian Collberg who isn't anything special. Mind you Vanek is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year but Garth Snow is an idiot for trading him for that.

A lot of that going around.

I can't believe what I saw last night. The Kings at Staples Center, honored Teemu Selanne. Gave him a standing ovation and a Ducks colored paddleboard with the logos of all of his teams on it. For a moment, Kings fans and Ducks fans lived in harmony. But then the Kings fans started a "Ducks suck" chant, and we're back to hating each other. Then, with the game tied at 3 after regulation, the one point that the Ducks got for that, clinched them the best record in the western conference for the first time in franchise history. They still have the potential to tie Boston for the Presidents trophy.

As for tonight, it's Teemu's last regular season game in Anaheim. Word has spread throughout the Ducks fans that he will get a standing ovation for every shift he takes in the third period. For Ducks fans, the game will never be the same after this season, without him.

Edit: now JS Giguere has announced this will be his last season. And tonight, he gets the start in Anaheim. It's gonna be rough for me. Those two guys are my two favorite players.

Edit: this was almost as good to see as the Ducks winning the Stanley Cup...

You think St. Louis can bounce back and beat Chicago?

Not sure on games, but here's what I predict:

MTL > TB (No Bishop and Palat just went down in game 1)

PIT > CBJ (Hope CBJ can put up a fight though)

PHI > NYR (Should be a great series, I think PHI sneaks by)

COL > MIN (COL has been great but it should be a close series)

CHI > STL (Too many injuries and a bad ending to the season for STL to rebound)

ANA > DAL (Anaheim is too good to lose this series)

SJ > LA (Another great series and it could go either way)

I won't predict the BOS and DET series since I'm a Bruins fan and don't want to jinx it!

Anyone else find it funny that only one Canadian team is in the playoffs?

The last time only one Canadian team made the the playoffs was 1973 and that team was Montreal. They also went on to win the Stanley Cup. Here's to hoping 2014 is a repeat of 1973.
