My reaction watching the Blackhawks hand the Kings their asses to them. I think I got a semi when they pulled Quick.

Blackhawks - Bruins finals would be fantastic.

I'm with ya.

On both points.

I was tired yesterday and thought once Boston got that 3-1 lead that would be it for Chicago and decided to head off to bed. Woke up this morning to find a billion notifications on my phone from NHL Gamecenter about it being into overtime and that Andrew Shaw had scored in triple overtime. Watched the highlights and I regret turning the game off but considering the game only finished at 3am and I had to be at work for 7am it probably was a wise choice tounge.gif

The NHL announced about half of the award winners today. I don't really care about them all that much, but I think Pittsburgh's Ray Shero being named General Manager is absolute bullsh*t. Pittsburgh has had the majority of the same team the last couple of years. Yeah, Morrow and Iginla to come play in Pittsburgh. So f*cking what. Pretty sure any player in the league would love the opportunity to play with Crosby and Malkin. I highly doubt Shero's wise words of wisdom convinced them. Had Pittsburgh won the cup, I would perhaps be a bit more sympathetic to Shero's case, but they didn't and only made it to the Eastern Conference final where they got beat up by Boston.

In my opinion, it the General Manager of the year award should have went to Marc Bergevin in Montreal or Bob Murray in Anaheim. Both made moves that actually helped improve their club and both helped guide their team to drastic improvements, unlike Shero who managed to land a couple of big names (at the chance of being able to play with Crossby or Malkin) which inadvertently resulted in Pittsburgh becoming worse (their power play being an example).

Turns out the US and Canadian ice hockey teams were playing a friendly tonight here in Melbourne. I would've gone, but I only found out about it half an hour ago when my friend who's at the game now shared a photo on Facebook; I imagine given that the NHL season is winding down, a lot of the top players would still be across the Pacific, but I still think it would've been a great spectacle to watch the two best nations in ice hockey battle it out here (Go USA ph34r.gif)

Well, Game 5 of the Finals is tonight and so far, during the Finals, I've been rooting for Boston, even though I live within the Detroit region (this is due to my Red Wings' season ending after the conference semifinals).

I'm hoping they will win tonight, especially after Thursday night when they lost to Chicago in overtime, their game-winning goal was seen in just about everywhere but somewhere in Texas, if you want to know what happened there that caused fans there to miss the goal, check out my reply on page two of my thread "Craziest television experience you ever had?" or if you're lazy, click here. Now, let's hope that tonight, let's just hope that people everywhere get to see the game in it's entirety and not be forced to miss a major goal and instead see a couple of lousy commercials.

Apparently the Canucks have hired John Tortorella. I don't know if he's the right person for the job but his interviews should be entertaining. Plus the Vancouver media is probably the toughest in North America. Should be interesting.

Wait, so Vigneault went to the Rangers and Torts went to the Nucks? lol.gif

For anyone who hasn't heard, there has been massive flooding in Calgary over the last several days. The Scotiabank Saddledome, home of the Calgary Flames has been heavily damaged and according to the president of the Flames organization, the damage is so severe that the building might not be ready in time for the start of next season. Below is a gallery of the damage.

That sucks. But it's Calgary, they don't have much besides the Flames, I bet they can get it all fixed in time for training camp.

Haha, the people celebrating in the street have begun taking the police barriers [metal fences] away from the cops and used them to crowd surf. Had they dones this a few years ago the cops her in Chicago would have turned this into a riot by now. Hopefully it stays peaceful.

The NHL and NBC are probably so disappointed since they were so close to a Game 7. It would have brought in huge tv ratings and a lot of money.

Excited for the draft tomorrow. Seems like there are a lot more trade rumors this time around, but let's see if anything really happens.
