OG-LOC R360
HELP! I borrowed Half Life from some friend at school today, and I don't know the CD key required to continue. I used the CD Key changer, but it's not leading me anywhere.
Waddy
HELP! I borrowed Half Life from some friend at school today, and I don't know the CD key required to continue. I used the CD Key changer, but it's not leading me anywhere. The key will be registered to your friends steam account. So only he can play it. OG-LOC R360
The key will be registered to your friends steam account. So only he can play it. Actually, I used a free key changer, but it can only give me 13. HL requires 25. I don't think my friend has even heard of Steam.
Waddy
Half life 2 has to be registered with steam when you load it up, you have to have an account with steam to be able to play the game. So your friend will have a steam account, and the registration number will be registered on your friends steam account.

In fact, I don't think my computer would handle HL2...greatly. Edited September 21, 2007 by OG-LOC R360

I bought Half Life 1 again with opp Forces and Blue shift a few weeks ago, I still had to register them with steam to be able to play them. matthew1g
I had the original since release date. I don't remember it needing a steam account. In fact I lent it to a couple of friends too. I think steam has taken control of it now.
CCPD
All depends on when that copy of Half-Life you have was released. If it’s an old one, then all you need is a CD Key. If indeed, its one of the new smartass Stem releases then you wouldn’t be able to make it run easily. In both cases in order to run the game you would have to use cracks and keygens, discussion of which is prohibited here. There is always a way to make things work so just use all the advantages of the Internet.
Mafia Righthand_Man
If it's forcing you to use Steam, you could just ask your friend if you can use his Steam account to play HL. Btw, didn't they make the original HL free on Steam now? Or am I crazy?
