Vanillainy Posted January 20, 2008 Share Posted January 20, 2008 After playing the demo again I feel they should of stuck to the old Burnout ways, this whole fre/e roaming is bullsh*t. I don't want to drive around looking for races and flying over stupid ramps spinnig sideways like a madc*nt. The races suck anyway, when you start the opposition get a rolling start, or should I say 100mph start after they zoom past you while you sit at the traffic lights like a c*nt. The races are not as agressive as the old ones it feels, racing down tight roads with oncoming trafiic was great while smashing someones car into the middle of next tuesday. But in this after smashing someone into a wall doesn't feel as rewarding just a bit meh. May just be me, but what a load of sh*t. Bring back the old burnout. But playing the demo, I learned how to turn off the DJ, so now it's fun. The crash effects are amazing and it's seems boring pony farming, but races feel like the old Burnout races. I don't care for the pony farming at ALL, and I don't like feeling like I never know where the turns are. I much prefer linear racing. If I wanted pony-farming street racing I'd go play NFSU or Midnight Club. The reason that Burnout has been my favorite arcade racer for so long is that their recipe worked. I am new to the burnout series and have nothing to compare this new game to, the crashes are amazing. GamerSuper Posted January 23, 2008 Share Posted January 23, 2008 just got it for the 360. so it's cool. damages are AWERSOME, it think they're generating in real time. as for me graphic is not very nice... i dont know why, through it would be much better.. so i've played it about 2 hours. i like it. think if i'll play it more ill like it more... You just have to go to the ONLINE menu and press Trianble for Friends and it will bring up your friends list and from there you can read messages or write them. I had been waiting in slight anticipation for about a month when I broke down and pre-ordered it on top of a couple trade-ins at GameStop. Now I work at GameStop, part time aside of my full-time 60+ hour a week security job, and I usually hear all of the customers bragging or bitching about the games that come out. Since I haven't worked a day there in about 2 months, I havent heard word on the game, demo or full purchase wise. So I guess you can say I purchased it out of blind-faith. I figured that with its good reviews and my love of prior Burnout games it would have been a good call. And to add on top of it all, I just bought a 26" Vizio and wanted a new game to help break it in. Well, I hook up the TV, plug in the 360, and start the game. First impressions of the load and game breakdown instructions made me think "well this is pretty...the town looks amazing...the details are great...open roaming style...". Total score, or so I thought. I am a huge racing fanatic. From GranTurismo on PS2 to Forza and PGR on the 360, I am obsessed with, and have beaten the all. But this game kinda made me think of a bastard mutt cross-breed of Burnout Revenge and NFS: Underground. Sure, both good games, but for me it was like they took all of the bad genes from both and instead of coming out with something as cool as a "Ligar"...I got a f*ckin jackass. My buddy/manager, Rob, is buying it off of me tomorrow. Beats trading it in for $25. This only made me want Race Driver One based on the Neon engine used in DiRT...so I guess I will have to satisfy my destruction desires in a more realistic, non-destruction based environment. I think it's a step backwards for the franchise and I'd much rather play Revenge. Oh and the game doesn't actually have 75 unique cars. Some of those are just different variations of the same car.
