I'd just order them online if I were you. Seems like whenever I go to Gamestop to buy an old school game, they don't have it. So get and play the first three in order. It's a great series. Then after, if you really want to get the whole experience and don't mind drastic gameplay variations, play the games in this order: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Metal Gear Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake Metal Gear Solid Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty Or, if you can't play all the games/are too lazy you can look up the basic plotline via Wiki or something. I did with Snake Eater since the ending was pretty confusing. Coming from a die-hard MGS fan, I'd recommend this to anybody who wants to know who the characters are, why Snake is so old, who the Patriots are, etc. etc. Trailer was friggin' sweet btw. For this game only it is worht buying a PS3 over 360 without even thinking. I followed the story, i even got those first 2d MGs emulated on PC. You're going to need some knowledge of past games otherwise you won't have a clue what's going on here and won't be able to appreciate it. Helps to read up on the games after you've completed them too as it can get pretty confusing. I get more excited about this game with every new trailer they release. A REX vs RAY battle? Awesome. I dont think this will be the last MGS game, theres still lots of potential storylines that could be shown, like they could set it in the time between MGS1 and MGS2, when snake and otacon go around taking out old metal gears etc... They could remake Metal Gear 1 or Metal Gear 2, although Metal Gear 1 doesnt have snake in it (not that i know of anyway, onle briefly played them on MGS3 Subsistence), or they could do a story between The Tanker and Big Shell chapters in MGS2. Thats why Snake ages faster then others. But Solidus from MGS 2 was already older looking then both Solid and Liquid. Thats because he has all those Big Boss genes. Solidus was a perfect Big Boss clone. Solid only has dominant genes. I forgot what Liquid has, but its some genes that make him weaker then Solid. I only hope Snake doesn`t die. Butt maybe that would make a story even more epic and better. Kojima will make a right choice i have no doubt about that. And wans`t Solidus Raidens father or something like that. I honlestly think that this series dies after 3, there are too many overused acts in this one (a arms dealer...seriously) I'm not going to type them out, cause i don't want the fan boyz to sh*t all over themselves when they read this.
