EasyAs
ok, I will make this perfectly clear. I have the highest hopes for Halo 3, and I'm sure it will be a great game. Ok, thats outta the way... Now, my concern is that after Combat Evolved, Halo has gone away from what made it great in the first place. It had overblown but appropriate effects (like the fuel rod cannon, which also left a trail of bouncing green sparks) It had three way battles, such as Marines v Covenant v Flood. It had a lot of enemies, in packs. Its main gun was more or less a machine gun cannon. The grenades were just... beefy. It had chain reactions. Like picking off a grunt to make him drop his nade, which would ignite the nearby nades and cause chaos. Now, put all together, this was why Halo ruled so much. Cone around a corner, the Flood and Covenant are at each other. Theres great looking gunfire going every where, a Hunter comes in and smashes a path through, then you can lob a nade in, and with all the added gore from the Flood, it just made me cry out FCK! everytime. Even better, you could have raped the whole group with the Shotgun. Halo 2 moved away from this. It took away the over bearing numbers, the Assault Rifle, it cut the Shotguns power down, the effects had lost their coolness, the grenades were seriously cut down and it just generally cut down on the crazy, unpredictable nature of the gun fights. I'll say again, Halo 3 will be great, but if your not convinced, play Halo from Two Betrayels and onwards to the end. You'll see what I mean. Mafia Righthand_Man
At this point I am just pretending that Halo 2 never existed lol. And because of Halo 1's success, I know Halo 3 will be excellent. REPEAT BUNGIE, I KNOW HALO 3 WILL BE EXCELLENT. AND WHEN I KNOW, I'M NOT WRONG. REPEAT BUNGIE, I KNOW HALO 3 WILL BE EXCELLENT. AND WHEN I KNOW, I'M NOT WRONG. Was that underlined capitalized 'know' a nudge in the side? On-Topic: I know exactly what you mean. Although the game did grow on me, I never went back to campaign. It felt rushed and didn't have that... umpth that the first one did. I beat it once, and never tried again, because it wasn't worth it. However, Halo 3 is looking like a real classic. DEFINITELY multiplayer will rape, but it would be nice to have another single player game to play to death, go to hell to get it back, play it to death again, piss on it, burn its ashes, eat the ashes, reassemble them into the working product again, and play it to death once more, like I did with Halo 1's SP. Metal up your ass!
Forty
I know 4 player co-op is online, but any word on whether it will work with system link as well? Halo 2 was rushed. The story didn't fill me with anxiety and excitement like the first one did. The submachine guns turned it into an ammo fest rather than a highly choreographed shootout. They got rid of the pistol scope, which pissed me off. They made the grenades somehow less fun (though I can't put my finger on it). As a whole I found the enemies easier to defeat and the game in general was just a lot less challenging. I am expecting Halo 3 to realign the series with the greatness it has already achieved. EasyAs
Forge is a level editor of sorts. But instead of editing terrain, you edit objects and their properties. You can change the weapons, where they spawn, how many can be there at one time, their starting ammo, set vehicles, make sure theres a minimum number of them at all times, build defenses, its nothing short of the actual Bungie Dev Tools, but without actual level design. In a Bungie Podcast, they explained two game varients made in Forge. One was a classic defend the barracade from zombies, and the other involved getting a VIP past the enemies defenses, but the VIP can't drive, he can only ride shot gun. Mafia Righthand_Man
That's f*cking sweet, EA. Yeah, if it's as amazing as they made it out to be in the EGM article I read, it should be very cool. The best part that they've mentioned about Forge is being able to make maps with friends on Xbox Live and when you wanna test out something on the map, you don't have to wait for it to load. It says you can press up on the D-pad and immediately get into the map as a Spartan to test out a feature on one of your maps. Not to mention other cool stuff you can do in Forge.
