Ottae
Just bought it on Steam. f*cking awesome so far and I've only played Portal. Portal's ace! Although it's not particularly challenging, it has it's moments and it's hilarious! Still letting the rest download.

fox09
Just picked this up today. Portal is amazing. Quite the mind-f*ck, but really fun. TF2 is just hectic as hell. Hilarious too, half the time I'm giggling to myself as I run up on an unsuspecting foe, and brain them with a baseball bat. Haven't Half-Life yet. I haven't played any of them yet, so I'm gunna play through them chronologically. Really glad I bought this.
Seddo
I'm near the end of Half Life 2 now, never new how much fun these Half Life games are, i should of played them when the all first come out, never new what i was missing so much fun. Can't wait to get HL2 episode 1 under way. Portal was great but i can't be bothered getting all golds on the levels but i still haven't played Team fortress 2 yet, i'll have to give that a bash later on but Half Life is addicting. Andyzoot
Anybody else find the Vortigaunts incredibly hilarious? I always laugh whenever they greet you with a line such as "Ah! The Free man graces us with his presence?" Or they make comments about the mission you are on with stuff like "Ah! This is a long road to travel." in their gravelly voices. Voodoo
Louis Gossett Jr voices the Vortigaunts much like he did the alien in the film "Enemy Mine". I make them run through all of their dialogue every chance I get - hilarious. Here's a fun egg from portal for those who haven't seen it yet: In the little room you find during level 17, there is some writing on the wall mostly about the cube. There is also a login written at the bottom of the wall. Click to enlarge if you want to see. Login: cjohnson Password: tier3 If you go to http://www.aperturelabratories.com/ you'll be able to use that login in an emulated shell environment. Just type login to get started and help for commands. The application APPLY.EXE is pretty funny. Louis Gossett Jr only did Half Life 2 and Episode 1, Tony Todd voiced the Vorts in Episode 2, i didnt recognise the voice until i read about it, now i can tell all the time (if the Candyman was an alien, this i what he would sound like lol). Voodoo
Haha - I didn't even notice. I'll have to load it up again and listen. Tony Todd has always creeped me the hell out since I saw Candyman.
[email protected]
I just picked it up for TF2 and HL2:EP2. What a frantic comedy show TF2 is, haha. I must say I'm impressed.
Ottae
When you're signed in as cjohnson, you can also type "notes" and it'll tell you a lot about Aperture's history. Apparantly they started by making shower curtains for the military I'm still intrigued to see how it fits in with Half-Life though, I know Black Mesa and Aperture were rival laboratories, but what's so special about the Borealis? The commentary hints at a Portal sequel, saying "This Portal game doesn't tell us much about Aperture" meaning they're could be more!

Oh yes I am sure there will be a sequel given the feedback by the gaming community, Valve are good at giving us things that we want. For instance the developers commentary that was trialed in The Lost Coast that's now a vital component of the HL games. Regarding the Borealis I invision a Event Horizon type thing with the ship being some experimental thing that may have gone wrong or could go wrong given Eli's warning to Gordon about creating the same kind of event as the Resonance Cascade. Seddo
What actually is this cube? In one of the levels you get the weighted companion cube and you use to it to get around the level but at the end of the level you have to throw it into a furnace to finish. In a nutshell, that's what happens but it's the dialog from GLaDOS during the level that makes the cube so memorable. The humor is best described as dark and dry. Ottae
That's partly what makes the game so good, the pitch black humour throughout. Just been playing through the achievements, the 300ft jump is awesome The cuddly Weighted Companion Cube is a bit too rounded, it's like the Weighted Companion Sphere in the Advanced level @Freak - Yeah, but Kleiner wouldn't want to make the same risk as at Black Mesa, so it can't be too bad. I reckon, what with Eli talking about G-Man as well, it might be something to do with him.
GTA3Freak-2001
Ha that's pretty cool, although I'd rather a rubicks cube sized replica for my desk but hey still cool. I so want the plush headcrab listed on Valves website too. Anyone know about the paper weighted companion cube you can make yourself? I've seen a picture of it but can't find the instructions and page you print out to cut and then fold together.
