I'm not scared though. I mean if it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen. I'm gonna play GTA IV as long as I want to.

Anyway, I moved the 360 from vertical to horizontal position. Placed it on top of a stack of game cases. About 5 or 6. It's got plenty of room to breathe. Also much, much, much, much easier to remove and insert discs. And I dont have to worry about tipping it over accidentally and ruining a disc.

I am totally ready for IV. (my copy gets here around 7-8 PM)

I'm thinking about trading in an older original XBOX to get some cash for a 360. Although after about a month or two of saving I could probably get a 360 easily enough, I wouldn't see the point as the XBOX games should still work on the 360 (correct?).

Any ideas about how much you can usually get for them, and any tips on where to trade them in at? I'm in Australia so american stores are harder to deal with, hehe.

Cheers.

What does a quater of a red ring in the bottem right had mean?

System Hardware Error, do you get any error code on a black screen when it happens? That usually pinpoints the exact problem.

Would that happening still be covered by the the full red ring warranty offered by MS?

Nope. It would be covered by the one year warrenty that covers everything, though. Of course, that warrenty has ran out for most people.

Although a plus point was it did look pretty nice graphically.

I'll give it that. It was a really pretty looking game.

Now all we need is for all movie games to be Spider-Man 2 quality.

That game was f*cking amazing.

I don't wanna post this in the IV section, because I don't have the game yet.

Many people are whining because theier 360's with the BenQ driver is having problems with GTAIV... Ok, I think mine is a BenQ too, and I bought it in Dec 2007, brand new, 60nm and all that new sh*t. Will I have those problems too? sad.gif

I'm having a big problem with my monitor. I've had this problem with Gears of War but really didn't care much about it, but now it seems the problem exists in GTA IV.

I'm using the official Microsoft VGA cable to hook my 360 to my 22" monitor.

GTA IV looks blurry, washed out, and overall looks way too gray. GoW has the same problem as I stated earlier.

I've tried messing with the display settings for hours but nothing looks good.

It's hard to describe, but the aliasing looks thick and is way too noticeable.

I've tried setting my 360 to all different resolutions. The problem still exists. Even when I set it to a resolution that works great with other games.

I was actually able to fix this temporarily somehow, and man, the game looked so much better and I found it way more enjoyable. I have no idea what happened.

Please, can somebody tell me what is going on?

If nobody really knows how to fix this, can anyone tell me how much better the image would be on an HD television?

I'm not familiar with TV sizes, but I'm going to look at ones that are slightly bigger or the same size as my 22" monitor.

How do you think it would look? Would the pixels stretch out and look blurry?

Did u set the 360 to 60Hz with the HD cables? Try messing with more settings.

I have played my 360 on a plasma w/ HD Cables and on my LCD Monitor w/ VGA and yeah the colour is brighter and vibrant on the Plasma. But i dont mind the greyish-ness of the VGA cables. Looks better to me.

Grand Theft Auto Dude

Quick question; Do newer 360 games with Xbox Live have 'Xbox Live' or just 'Live' on the box?

It's been bugging me the past few days, thought I'd ask here, instead of making a new topic. smile.gif

Blackadder.

GTA IV is blurry in the distance no matter what display you are using, I've noticed that VGA seems to highlight it more than SD, although I haven't played IV on a HD TV yet.

EasyTiger: Glad to see your using the old avatar I made a while ago. smile.gif

I don't know. I bought mine a few weeks ago, so I'll assume its one of the newer ones. I haven't had a problem with it running IV yet.

Yeah, I noticed that and thought it was a bit odd. I think it's because they don't want to use the old Xbox logo anymore.

WTF! I was trying to download the Crackdown demo, just to hold me up untill I get GTAIV(Yeah, it's odd), and I can't download it! I set that I lived in Key West, FL, on my Gamertag thing. It says that it isn't avaible for the region, wich I find odd for a game that isn't avaible on the United States of Freaking America. Wich are the regions that I can download the game? And can I change my region on another gamertag?

It's probably because of "Windows Live" so Live isn't just "xbox live" anymore... if you get my point.

Silver accounts can't play online, you need to get a Gold account to play online. Also, there are some things you get for free if you're Gold. As simple as that.

Nah, you still have the same gamerpoints for either Gold or Silver. wink.gif

@ GTA Thomas: Hook up the 360 to a tv with the HD TV and go to display settings and switch to 60Hz then hook it back upto the monitor with the VGA cables.

But i was playing GTA at my friends TV w/ HD and then i played it on my VGA cabled monitor. I think the graphics looked worse and blurry on the VGA. I think i'll retract my statement that i like the picture of the VGA confused.gif

@BenQ Drives: I got my 360 back from repairs yesterday and they had replaced the Samsung (which was scratching my disks) with the BenQ. I have not encountered any problems with pop-up. Unless thiers more problems with the BenQ drive i dont know about.

same thing happens to me too. i have a 22' monitor just like you and the gfx are not sharp as other games and yes this happens only at GTA 4.

i tried running @ 1280*1024 and right now i'm playing from a bit far and it looks better.

Hmmmm thats odd. I know people here in the US who downloaded copies of the Japanese Burnout. They did the same thing you did. Did you change your profile phone number? Make the area code 414....

Only advice I have to give is not to get it. Get at least the premium. If you want to play online your probably going to want a lot more memory with all the new demos and game stuffs coming out. It's worth the extra bucks. Also no you don't need it, but if you don't get it you have to use a wire.
